Why would they spend time and money on something which has no value?

Are you an Everton supporter. It's like you appear out of nowhere at the slightest mention of Everton. Not having a go, just curious.

Standard Liege, owned by 777, have been given a transfer ban after not paying salaries.
These clowns can’t be allowed into English football.
If the Everton/777 deal collapses they are in deep doodoo.

I dont get the admin talk at all. Surely for a business to go bust they have to be failing to meet their debts, wages and tax debts.
Looks like Everton aren't on any of them.

777 also own Standard Liege in Belgium and have left the club in a terrible state. Fans protest led to their game of yesterday being postponed.

Was listening to some finance guy on the radio last week and he says Everton have another breach to deal with but they've deferred it to next season. They are wishing now they'd got it out of the way due to the points gap. So they will probably get another points deduction next season.

Are you an Everton fan, theduke? Just asking as the majority of your posts are about Everton and their finances.
I agree re: administration. You’d have to expect they would have wage arrears, tax arrears, etc before administration is a real prospect and they don’t.
The only real problem they have is the MSP debt repayment which presumably just gets converted to shares and they take over the club if it’s not paid. That seems the best outcome for everyone bar Moshiri, I’d have thought, and I assume they just need a partner to fund the remaining stadium build/operational costs for a period. In which case I can’t see that being so hard to get over the line.

Yet for some inexplicable reason the premier league said they were ‘minded to approve’ their takeover.
The sooner we have an independent regulator to regulate football, with clear but tough sporting sanctions for regulatory breaches, the better.

No my mum's side all are so they keep me updated, it's all they talk about.
They seem pretty convinced 777 are being used by moshiri and usmanov to keep funneling cash into the club to get around sanctions.
Starting to look that way, 777 went bust yesterday but have Everton another £8m this morning. I think Everton argued that due to sanctions they lost £200m which is oddly the same as what 777 have given them as an unsecured loan.
Who loans that much cash unsecured??

Don't think Thats quite true. In the last verdict the commission said Everton and the PL are still arguing about something which is believed to be about interest on loans for the stadium.
Everton used their own cash for the stadium and used loans to cover day to day running costs. The PL said interest on loans can only be offset if for a stadium.
So Everton have changed their accounts and switched the loans. The Pl
said you can't do that and Everton said we can under UK law.

Not sure I mean it's due to be finished by december. A Braithwaite sale should finish it alone

Everton have structural problems unrelated to the stadium. They have over 400 staff and a wage bill getting in for 90 per cent of the turnover.
The club is stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer but if they sell the likes of Branthwaite to pay for the stadium they may not be a PL club by the time they get into it.
This is a team that had injuries after Xmas and lost a club record number of games. the squad isn't that deep and the finances are a mess.

you do know that the FCA (the Financial Regulator) approved 777 Partners for the takeover back in December don't you?
there is little to prove that the Independent Football Regulator will exercise it powers on such decisions better than the Premier League. Consider also that the Football Governance Bill includes a specific clause that such decisions have to be taken with full consideration of the governments wider and international economic interests and relationships.

Are you suggesting the government are asking the PL to tickle the USAs tummy? There are too many yankee owners involved in English football as things stand.

Yes, but from what I understand this was merely a box ticking exercise in the same way dodgy pay day loan companies can get regulatory approval. Doesn’t make them right, fit and proper or origin of their funds legitimate. Which is where the PL and FA parts of the approval should’ve stepped in and put this farce to bed a long time ago.
With mounting law suits abroad, allegations of fraud, other clubs not paying their players, etc there should just be no way possible for 777 to own Everton, yet they’re ’minded to approve’ or whatever. It’s an absolute joke and for all concerned should’ve had the door firmly closed on it a while back.
But I agree may not improve with an independent/government regulator.

Yes the government is open and welcoming to US funds, the FCA's approval of 777 Partners has always looked strange.
It is a matter of public record the government campaigned for the Saudi takeover for Newcastle after they first walked away from the deal and managed to get the Premier League to accept that there was no Saudi government influence on its own Public Invest Fund. They want Saudi Investment in the North East - where it looks like the Saudi's will own the free port up there
Same with the level of investment around Manchester by Abu Dhabi funds, consider why the Co-op Live was given permission to build with another publicly owned arena nearby. Previously there were the Chinese investments.
We should not forget that Downing Street gave it's approval for Super League before it was announced, changing it's mind when it saw the public reaction
It may be that some in government have found the Premier League to difficult on these fronts and found a useful vehicle in the Independent Football Regulator

Indeed, but as ChesterPerry has pointed out the line has already been crossed and bent.
777 subject to criminal investigations in the US and are looking to draw funds by withdrawing their participation in football clubs

From what I gather it seems only a matter of time before the house of cards that built 777 collapses… then the creditors are going to go looking for the mega bucks, they’ve leant Everton this season to function, leaving one almighty hole. No doubt some million-millionaires will step in to steady the ship, but let’s not forget they have their money by waiting until the price is right. Like buying are car it is far cheaper if you can afford to let the wheels fall off before you buy.
