Embarrassing

He does it regularly.
I don't say this often if ever about a Burnley player but he's a complete ****. Makes Roberts seem likeable and sporting.
Not the right character for a team I want to watch, regardless of talent. Can't leave quick enough.

Think he's a good player and the best right back we have. But the attitude, the screaming at the ref, faking injury. Not what we want at this club.

Good player but he’s got probably the most petulant and embarrassing attitude I think I can remember any Burnley player ever having. Endless pointless fouls, the joke swan dive he did in our own box away at West Ham and then that with O’Shea today.

Talented but not someone I want to see wearing our shirt.

One of our most creative players, but seriously needs to be taken to one side and told to grow up. It is a team game; he needs to learn that quickly and not look for the easy option of diving, then spitting out his dummy… but there are a few that could be said about… they really need to be toughened up for the Championship or we’ll struggle.

I think he has made us better this season. I'd like to see him stay, but doubt he does.

Hopefully never seen at Burnley again , a talent yes , but an average r/b , lazy ,cheating , diving whinging show pony . Hopefully VK’s toe up his backside is the last contact he has with us .

Can't defend, that nonsense at the end made me more angry than anything I've seen this season.

That was embarrassing. Clearly a talented player but that is not the right attitude we need when were 5 or 10 minutes from being relegated. Get up and fight.

Its frustration from a young player. Add that one to the clear penalty he didn't get against Newcastle and thr fact its an important game and his frustration has boiled over. Its not the way I want to see our players conduct themselves, but its shows he cares, which you can't say about a lot other players in our team.

We’ve lacked too many who you’d like next to you in the trenches this season. There is a frame to build on… but we had that going into this season. VK and Pace need to stop tinkering and make us solid… any team has to start with solidity before worrying too much about flair… then the flair will look like world beaters.

Who knows what this kid has in store next season? He may not get a decent move. I can understand his frustration.
I can forgive him losing his head after being denied at least two, maybe three, stonewall penalties in recent games and also being wrongly sent off. Let’s go easy on him and be a bit more caring.

Totally agree, could you imagine if half of the team for first 28 games had his passion

Assignon has given passion, commitment and generally made us better since joining. It was also a penalty on him late on today so who can blame him being ****** off.

Agree with this.
I can see others points too: I don’t like diving or how easily he goes down. He really needs to work out that refs don’t buy it in England and we as fans don’t like it either.
But equally he has been treated badly by refs.
The converse argument to this thread is to praise O’Shea for showing some leadership and going over there & picking him up.

Was it? Looked to me like he tripped over himself. He was incandescent though.

Good player… would be excellent with some self control. If the petulant reactions don’t stop he can go for me.

Hopefully the last we see of him an utter embarrassment.

On a couple of occasions he's flung himself to the ground in our box which has nearly lead to a goal being conceded. Only a bad miss, a good block or a good save has got him off the hook. An absolute brain doner at times imo!

Agree, even I would have Roberts back that watch that.

Imagine a dyche interview after that

. Absolutely terrible that he didn’t realise it was his foot he tripped over. Then proceeded to moan about it. Get shut he can’t defend for toffee

Hate to break it to you, but he tripped himself up.... Excellent going forward, but too many incidents where he throws himself to the ground with minimal contact.

I don’t buy this ‘excellent going forward’. He is a French Tyrone Mears. Has a lot of pace which flatters to deceive his lack of end product.

I mean he’s got 1 goal 2 assists (should be 3 but Fofana literally missed from a yard out with an open goal) which isn’t a bad return for a full back with 15 appearances in a struggling PL team.

I don’t agree. He stifled Elliotts creativity by occupying his space which lead Elliott to come inside which he received pelters from the longside for which was unwarranted. Mears defensively was awful, and just because he was fast, he was made to look better than what he was.

Elliott was playing as a number 10 long before Mears joined. Eagles, Paterson and Nugent all played from the right.

Elliott was on the right with mears in the Coyle half of the season.

Tyrone Mears was the English Assignon when he played for Marseille.

Your memories playing tricks on you. He was central with Bikey/Mcdonald/Gudjonssen or McCann when he was fit with Alexander behind.
Fletcher as the lone front man with the rest battling for the wide roles
