Bring it on

Barring the tiny odd flurry of misplaced hope I’ve felt we were relegated since before Halloween - mental acceptance makes it far easier. This league, aside from the financial benefits, is a total shitshow for the vast majority of sides. We have not had our fair share of luck/decisions and it’s at times felt like we were fighting against more than just the opposition players.
I cannot wait for The Championship. Derbies, atmosphere and crucially, winning. Kompany has got a load wrong this season, as has our owner, but he’s a known quantity in the league below. A winner. Our team needs work, some will go, some unknowns will come in - all part of the fun. Whatever our team looks like we will undoubtedly have a strong side and should expect a successful season - promotion is the only acceptable outcome.
Let’s enjoy the summer, go on our holidays and come back ready for something magical like that Friday night in Huddersfield in July 2022.

Already looking forward to the fixtures being announced. Let's get behind this young team and have another fantastic season in the Championship.

Being in the Prem puts you further in debt unless you spend the money on the infrastructure, which we haven't.

The financial thread makes for some quite sober reading . We’ve an awful lot of assets to liquidate and wages to save that’s for sure .

Good post jedi. Next season squad planning clearly already started with Esteve committed and Sambo signing on a free. Plan will be in place. Looking forward to it, like you I’m hoping VK will do a lot of self-reflection this season and improve as a coach.

I wouldn’t read too much in to the doom & gloom on there.
There will be some sales for sure but very much doubt it’ll be as bad as some like to make out and in any event we have a second team that won the league with 101 points last time so we could sell all this summers signings and still be in with a decent chance.

Not doom & gloom at all , but financially the club has an awful lot of balancing to do . Though with a biggish clearout ( we’re very bloated ) we should still be left with plenty of talent . Last season was very much a perfect storm for us , weak div, prem experience squad , superb loans , and some savvy buys along with the whole VK juggernaut.
Personally im looking forward to a likely far tougher but ultimately successful campaign .

There will be balancing. That’s a good word. But as you say there will be a strong squad at the end of that process.
I expect a different season. One where we’re much stronger than we were defensively, some very attractive football but maybe not quite so prolific going forward without Tella and Maatsen.

Love this post Jedi.
Like you, I’m super excited for the summer and next season already.
Hope we keep the core that have proven themselves to be premier league quality and give it a real go next year.
I agree that both the manager and owner need to reflect and learn from this experience and I’m confident they will. If they do we can come back better and stronger
Some of the football at times has been brilliant but we’ve been undone by sensational individuals that simply don’t exist in the league below, so I’m looking forward to more of the great football without the punishment
Up the clarets!!
