I used to just watch the results as well. The show itself is very well done now though so a good bit of entertainment. Ireland was a bit different !!! Wouldn’t be surprised if they win it.

Currently 5th favourites and the bookies are generally bang on, or their fave finishes 2nd.

Israel has actually been my favourite. A very good voice and nice song.

The funniest programme of the year didn’t disappoint.
The Swiss won.
UK entry was awful, badly sung and the staging was poor. Got some points off the Juries but didn’t get a single vote in the worldwide phone in.

I got home quite late after having a few beers with a few boys from the General Williams who are over here on a short visit. Having said that, when I got hone Mrs. Vino was watching it, so I watched it for a short while and then watched the results coming in. I have to say I thought it was all a very gay affair.

Good entertainment as always. Deserved winner. We concentrated too much on fancy staging and had a shite vocal,

The most catchy and entertaining song finished second for the third consecutive year. I'd given only 5 songs a grade of 6/10 or more and 4 of those didn't make it to the final at all. The Denmark girl not making it was robbery.

It's not a great surprise that the Israel song did OK. It was like a poorer version of Denmark but with much better staging. If one sixth of the people are inclined to vote pro-israel then they will get a huge vote, bearing in mind that the other 5-sixths will be scattered about 10 different songs. Take a look at the accidentally released voting figures for Italy in the semis.

UK finished slightly above where it should. Poor, childish song, intonation problems as well as the issues above, but there were worse.

We should have entered these two. They’d have won it for us. God bless them.

The winning song was shown up for what it was when he wasn't cavorting on his satellite dish - very ordinary.

Yep, it was just too sleazy.

Ireland's entry wasn't too bad, but they should have gone for full-on goth and ditched the twee poppy chorus for something that fitted the song.

Most of the entries were outrageously camp/gay or goth, albeit very entertaining. My three favourites were Germany, France and Estonia. The scores don’t really matter in the end, do they.

The best songs didn’t do that well. The winner was dreadful. The UK entry was an embarrassment and Ireland’s was useless. That’s it in a nutshell.

If people aren’t allowed to vote because the recipient of said votes had done something unsavourable in their past, it would be “nil points” for everyone.

They voted for a song. It just happened to be sung by a young lady representing her home nation that is currently engaged in offensive operations against a terrorist state/organisation in retaliation for a disgraceful and cowardly attack on its people on October. The population of Gaza strip when Israeli civilians left/ were forced to leave in 2005 was 1.3 million, today it is over 2 million. Not much evidence of actual genocide there (albeit evidence/truth barely comes into it when activists are looking for slogans to energise the easily led).

I don't think Morocco have been in for a long while, but yes easy to miss Australia this year, they failed to qualify from the semi finals unfortunately. They'll be back stronger next year

Who knows about the Russian's though, if we listen to their news they said they withdrew their application to take part rather than being banned.
