Crazy if true. The worlds no 1 golfer banged up only days after becoming a father for the first time and right in the middle of a major championship.

Absolutely hope he’s punished. So selfish and greedy, if true.

If this is true, then it takes the arrogant and entitled 'do you know who I am' to a whole new level.
It's crazy what success, power and wealth does to some individuals. They end up thinking they can shite all over us lesser mortals.

he's been released, no idea if he has been charged with anything but it's America so they've probably decided he looked at a policeman and that is assault

And on the other hand, we've also seen what fame and money can let you get away with.

5 charges including reckless driving and a minor assault on a police officer, according to the charge sheet.
His own statement says he misunderstood the instructions given.

More likely rough especially after reckless driving.

Players were advised they could circumvent the traffic jams and enter the course. He was in a rental car and officers obviously haven't realised he was a player.

When I saw the news on this at lunchtime I didn’t see it as an over entitled golfer thinking he’s above the law, but more a player who has been through so much in the past few days that he wasn’t thinking clearly and wanted to just get into the course and couldn’t understand why he couldn’t just do that.
Merely a misunderstanding as far as I can see

Scheffler comes across as a modest and decent fellow to me. He has put out a statement saying that it was a genuine mistake and he never meant to cause any harm. They may only be words but I am prepared to believe him for the time being.
There is also the argument that some people can turn into power crazed ego maniacs when they are given a badge, uniform and gun.

Sounds like a misunderstanding on Scheffler's part and a (massive) overreaction on the part of the cop.

Indeed but thank god the VAR refs don’t have guns. They wouldn’t know when it was clear and obvious to shoot.

Breaking News
All police charges dropped and no criminal offence committed worth pursuing charges for.
A relief to many I’m sure

when you see the video that was posted last week you understand why the accusing police officer was fired - he completely fabricated the charges
