A statement from the club?

I’m not one to bash Alan Pace at every opportunity like some, but do I think a statement of some kind wouldn’t go amiss this weekend.
We’ve all been living off speculation for a week and had nothing from the club. Now that it’s a done deal it would be nice to hear something? Matt Williams seems to be popular with those ITK on this forum so maybe he could say a few words on what the plan is?

It is not a plan....it's a project!

I am one to bash at every opportunity but they're right to not say anything until it's 100% contract signed and done.
I'm sure it won't happen but while there's any slight chance we end up with Kompany staying or having to sack him, any statement could end up looking quite bad.

There's no need for the club to say anything until kompany officially leaves

Compensation is nothing to do with the fans and Kompany leaving is nothing to do with the Board.
No point putting out a statement which says absolutely nothing of substance anyway.

The club shouldn't issue a statement until after the deal has been completed.

Do you mean he resigned? If so, I don't think that is correct.

What could they say?
We are disappointed that Vinnie has left, but understand he could not resist the challenge of Bayern.
We are working around the clock to put a new man in place.
The manager leaving will not derail our mission.
We will be working through the candidates and will firm up our plans once Kompany’s departure is confirmed.
The aim remains to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
We will tell you more when we have confirmation.
Up the Clarets.
So nothing everyone on this board does not already know…

I'm with the club on this one.
When the deal is completed, they should release a statement then.

Exactly something like this. It’s been reported he verbally agreed to join them last Monday and said his goodbyes at the club on Wednesday.
I’d like to know timescales as to when we can expect to announce a new manager.

Dear Mr V Kompany,
Leave your cap on the doorstep and get out.

That statement is good enough to keep me happy for a while!

Vincent Kompany has left the club
Our search for his replacement has begun
I doubt we will get much more than that

There should be no statement until everything is official. It would be farcical to announce something before it was legally completed.

Nothing for the club to say at all just now. I’m sure they will tell us once the deal has been completed with Bayern.

They probably won't be allowed to make any sort of statement yet and nor should they.

Read this morning that the club are talking with Craig Bellamy to stop him following VK to Munich.
Although last week I read he doesn’t want to go to Bayern anyhow.

Bellamy won’t be going to Bayern Munich. I believe it was Kompany’s decision that he should leave Burnley. Not sure where you have read that.

Would you say the issue between started before the Chelsea interview Tony, as reported that was some bizarre interview.

So there was a falling out between them, then?
There were lots of rumours flying around that Bellamy was only doing a couple of days a week.

I've also read on here that Bellamy has already left the club and handed in his notice 3 weeks ago.
Who knows what to believe?

CB explained to VK that you’re allowed to make substitutions before the second half injury time is announced. VK still hasn’t quite recovered.

Tbf he made more half time substitutions than I’ve ever known a Burnley manager make.

It would be interesting to know if Pace half expected this or whether he is absolutely furious (despite the compensation).
Will this be in the final part of the 'Mission' documentary?

Not sure but I think if it's a 4 part series again then I'll be skipping straight to the final episode to tune into this bit.

It doesn't bother me one jot, what will be will be.
To be making statements before any deal is completed could be counter productive.
I understand we all want some resolution and clarity, but we need to show some patience and let the board do its business.
I'd hope that when they have some news we'd hear about it, but as the appointment of VK shows, the club were clearly making plans with him long before it became public knowledge.
Relax, whatever happens me ad you can do nowt about it.

I don’t understand why some fans want a continuous running commentary on everything.
At the end of the day nothing official has happened so there’s no need to say anything.
Seems to be a thing now in the days of rolling news and information. Sometimes wish we were back
In the days of teletext and clubcall. Much less drama queenery around then

It would have been strange for VK to have said his goodbyes on Wednesday, considering that there were still significant details to be sorted between the two clubs. Not sure that VK has been at the club since the news broke.
If I was Alan I think I might have suggested to VK that he stay away until things were completed one way or the other, or at the very least until after Bayern had contacted BurnleyFC in an official capacity.
