Managerless team are bidding £20m for a unknown young goalkeeper. I wouldn't believe it until you mentioned the team Chelsea, anything is possible with that lot.
Although I still think Trafford will be No 1 at the Turf this season with us getting some money for Muric.

We should keep him, develop him and sell him in a few years time. That's why we signed him in the first place

But you run the risk of him not developing as expected.
Deal or no deal situation.

But his legacy will be we gambled our Premier League position for £5m quid profit.
He's a good keeper. He's one of a few players whose futures have already been paved out for him, particularly at the international level. He needs at least a solid season in the Championship. He is our investment; we can cash out or hang on to him and get more in 12-18 months.

When you have the likes of Ramsdale who is young and experienced looking for a club why would you bother with 20m unknown on Trafford?
I just can't see it happening. I would like to see us improve him and move him on in a few years ala Pope. There is a keeper in there but this season was absolutely not the time to throw him into the fire. Next season should suit him better and hopefully we get promoted he has the experience and confidence to cement himself as a No 1 PL keeper.

We only sold Pope for 10 million remember and he was in England set up too .we can’t afford not to take 20million for Trafford .. we are a championship team

He is a good keeper he was appallingly treated by Kompany though he should have been introduced gradually.

I didn't say I wouldn't take £20m for him, I said I cannot see it happening with his inexperience at present compared to his competition. I think the rumour is probably a load of guff and I expect him to be out No 1 next season with Muric being much more likely to be sold for a profit after his contributions.

Chelsea paid £71 million for Kepa and are a complete basket case.
If we can push these numpties to £25 mill then that would be a serious piece of business.

If it is true and I doubt it is, I'd take it personally.
We may or may not make more down the line but we don't need him to win the Championship and the money would come in very handy for the new manager.

£20m start point.
£25m plus sell on, international debut etc.
Sell
Actually Pitchfork was £25m rising to £30m so more like that.

£25m will look like very cheap business in a few years time, I’m sure.
Depends on our financial situation I suppose.

If selling Trafford relieves any pressure to sell key players and we keep Muric as our keeper then it's a yes from me.. this last week has been like turning up at the tip with unwanted stuff and people clambering over themselves to buy it

Throw in Amdouni and you can have both for £40m

If he gets the chance with a good manager, and not that clown that threw him in at the deep end, then there may well be a good keeper in there, but he needs time and nurturing. So sell now for a modest profit or keep hold and hope a proper manager can develop him.

If Trafford signs for a club as a my number 2 then he will end up doing a dean henderson and having to move again to show what he’s capable off.
He might have a chance of number 1 at Chelsea because their keepers aren’t very good but if he goes to Newcastle he is nowhere near popes level

Why can't people understand that Trafford is massively more valuable than nick pope. Literally chalk and cheese situation. £20m wouldnt be a bad deal with seller and buyer.

If Pope gets injured again, which is likely, Trafford will get a decent run out as number 1
Pope made 15 league appearances this season, that’s it

If Maresca gets the Chelsea job it wont be Trafford they try and buy but Hermansen. I have been to the KP Stadium about 8 times this year and take it from me he is a sensational young keeper-great wth his feet, very good in the air and a good shot stopper. He wont be fazed by the PL

Chelsea's owners are all about 'trading' players, like a baseball club. They see the current U21 keeper, who's just been called up to the England Euros squad.
They see future profit, not what's happened this season. There could definitely be something in this.

Newcastle have a better, more organised defence
Trafford would benefit from that, much like Pope did during his time here with the way Dyche set up

Obviously, the Trafford thing has been exhausted over and over again, but it still completely baffles me how anybody sees anything at all in this lad. He's simply not got the basics in my opinion, and if he hasn't got that now you can't coach it at this stage. Every aspect of his game is just poor imo. Pope is literally light year's ahead of him. Yes, there's an age gap, but I just don't see Trafford ever getting anywhere near pope.

It's best to compare the two at the same age. Pope spent the season in which he turned 20 on loan at Harrow Borough and Welling United. Did he look vastly better than Trafford at that age?
Trafford was one of the best keepers in League One in 2022-23. Do you think he's going backwards? Or is that the sort of level that you mean when you say he's poor?
