Not sure what is meant by leading the team at this time given that it's close season and the players are all away

The board could want him about to play a part in selecting the new manager. Maybe.

I hope it doesn't mean it's going to be a very long managerial search!

Could it be CB gave J Rodriguez a new contract?

Or a VERY very short one, ie it's over!

It would be bizarre having left the club, come back, and then appointed manager all in about a week!
Strange times.

"It was widely believed that Bellamy had left the club, reportedly after disagreements with Kompany".
Funny way of saying that you made it up.

It was announced last week, before the Kompany news, that Jay had been offered a new contract.

Id say its highly likely through agents etc that Bellamy knew VK was planning on jumping ship

And what exactly do you imagine that CT would have to gain from making something like that up, you jumped up little so and so?

I wouldn't know but the fact he has been put in temporary charge would suggest that Bellamy didn't leave.

It has been reported by quite a few journalists on X etc that Bellamy had left, rather than suggesting he had never left I suspect it means that the reason he had left was Kompany!

Possibly became aware he was prosing himself out, but equally likely Bellamy was not happy letting bellyflop out of the league for Kompany’s egos sake.

Could we be looking for a sporting director or someone for a consultancy role working with Bellamy as the head coach?

He quite clearly hadn’t left but it hardly matters either way.
I guess it makes sense just to have somebody hold the fort, could take a few weeks to get the managerial role sorted and it’ll be good to have a stable port of call when it is sorted to get the guy familiar with the squad.

Why do you say "quite clearly?"
I thought it was accepted that he went not long after the Forest game?

Another wild, unsubstantiated guess.
And I thought "X" was just for kids, and not to be relied upon...unless, I suppose this depends on if what is being reported suits certain agendas.

I don't think he left but he was considering leaving & had kompany (BM) accepted the both he wouldn't be here. If he did leave it was short term to mull his future over probably sanctioned by pace & with him coming back (if he did leave) he probably now realizes what side his breads buttered on.

I’m happy to give the pair of them a chance.
It’s just as likely to work out as appointing any of the others which could well come with more risk.

We could do a lot worse than Bellamy, if he landed the job. He obviously didn't agree with VK on a lot of issues. Knows the squad, would probably play the same style of football but with a bit more pragmatism.

That is why the more discerning are careful who they follow. As a researcher when I go to a library I don’t just select books at random either.

Do we know who he had an issue with?
It was previously mentioned that it was Kompany but was then alluded to be someone else?

The developments since the season ended do seem to point to a falling out between the 2.
Know it was a “one off” but I was impressed in the way that Bellamy took the team for the game against Chelsea.
I know VK may have been relaying instructions to him but I’m wondering if CB ignored them and made me hose decisions himself. I doubt VK would have brought Jay on in the game and CB was full of praise for him afterwards

I don’t know if it’s fact or not but I was told Bellamy took over although when VK was banned from the touch line in subsequent games he was in contact.
And Jay did really well that day when he came on.

If it’s a choice between Lampard, Parker and Bellamy might as well give him up till Christmas see how he does.
If we can employ someone with a higher than 50% win rate in their league get them instead.

What is a wild unsubstantiated guess what I read on X or what i said? If it was what I said of course it was the words “I suspect” should have give that away! If it is what I read on X then 100% unsubstantiated but a guess I would doubt. X/ Twitter or whatever you want to call it is for anyone who chooses to use it what your personal opinion of it and who uses it is down to you and something your entitled to believe if you so wish. I think everyone posts on here with an agenda including you and me although some are worse than others it do try not to and in this I don’t think I did it was just an opinion based on things read on here and on other places.

He did and that’s kinda my point.
Maybe CB suggested we should be using Jay more and VK wasn’t willing to listen
Whatever has happened I doubt we’ll ever know the details and it’ll be featured in the UTC X-Files alongside the “Disappearance of Remco” and “How times was Fernando Guerrero fouled”

I think this is a clever/positive move by the club.
If, and I mean IF Craig Bellamy is named as the new manager then the positives could be big regarding continuity and the club knowing we have someone who knows the players and how the club is run..
Plus, he was there experiencing and seeing how to win promotion from the Championship.. Add Micheal Jackson and a new coach to the mix then we may have our answer already within the club..
I worry when fans want David Moyes etc.. We need someone who buys into our squad and direction the club want to go, David Moyes is a good manager but could be a completely failure, just look at his time at Sunderland..

In fairness I think the greatest manager in the world would have failed at Sunderland. The whole club was toxic at the time.
