Third highest in their history and the biggest without anyone getting a century. The top 4 all made 50s though. Pro 86no i think.

Church actually started well, got to 106 without loss just past halfway, only to fall to 110/3 ...
They're currently 182/9, with two overs left.

It would have been seven points had they lost but it’s seven for the tie and two for bowling Hassy out.

Strange finish at Haslingden. Looked as though Burnley had lost by two runs as they all set off to leave the pitch, all except the two Burnley batsmen who knew there had been a no ball.

Some delay but the no ball was then added to the score leaving Burnley one run behind and they finished with a single off that final ball.

Must have been a difficult wicket, very few boundaries in the game.

And another win for the mighty Colne, beat Bacup by 2 wickets after the ninth pair (Walker and Tillotson) put on about 30.

Looks like Burnley's demise has begun. Only nine points today. At least the batsmen knew what was going on to get the tie!!

It's like being on a Leeds forum this thread, look at our crowds.

Do they award trophies or bonus points for crowds in the Lancs league ?

Since I started watching Burnley full time, we've had 6 promotions (and 4 relegations), 3 Wembley finals (2 won), and generally a good time. 6 promotions in less than 40 years isn't bad. Also a couple of League Cup semi-finals, though one of them was before I had a season ticket. Burnley's been successful, overall.

And even Colne have won a couple of Worsley Cups!

Do Nelson charge to go on I heard it was free. Burnley could try free admittance it would make next to no difference on gate money :D

Most grounds are free these days for league games if not T20 and that's especially true since COVID. I'm guessing it's because if you can encourage people through the gate there's far more money to be made over the bar. Even if most clubs can't match Lowerhouse in terms of attendance figures, there's usually plenty of money being taken at the bar and via the catering at almost every club, especially on a warm day. The food set up at some clubs in the league with very pleasant restaurant areas indoor and outdoor, doing full Sunday roasts etc are pretty impressive operations and are very well used by the locals, even ones who aren't that fussed about the actual cricket.

Correct and for certain games the attendance is still high. For 20/20 a thousand people can not be wrong. They happily pay for the experience whereas at the BooBoo people go on seeking solitude.

Not true. It is a league rule to charge for First Eleven games.. (see page 32 and 34 here)

It's true that there is a league rule to charge admission, but that's not the same as saying that all clubs charge admission. Some don't.
