England v Bosnia

How does Southgate manage to make us look so poor with so much talent available.
The team out tonight wouldn't qualify from the group stages.

The team that played in qualifying and the one that plays in the Euros won’t look anything like the one tonight. A few of these won’t even make the final squad.

I’m guessing they just picked out of a hat before the game which position they were going to play.
Centre back at right back.
Right back at left back
Right back in midfield

with acknowledgement it's a friendly and it's a thrown together team who have only had a few days or so together.... it's staggeringly bad.

it's an odd one, you'd think the lads on the pitch would be busting a gut to get into the squad. Not sure who's at fault, I'm a firm believer that motivation comes from within and not the manager. Proper half arsed stuff.

It's a nothing game. I half reckon Southgate and the players think it's just getting in the way rather than helping the Euros prep.

I think it sums up my excitement and expectation from an England friendly these days that I am watching Springwatch on BBC2. Was thinking of looking in to see if there was anything to see second half… but probably not tbh.

Exactly this some of this 11 surely won't be included so you'd expect them to be going at it like lunatics to gain there place.
Rumours he won't take Grealish which would be shocking.
Not sure why Dunk has started again he's awful for England I'd have given Branthwaite a chance.
Two of England's best ever right backs both out of position with a centre back at right back, it's poor

Time after time after time I watch England games and am bored to tears. Sooner Southgate is gone the better I suppose.

Unpopular opinion, Trent Alexander-Arnold is useless and massively over-rated.

Well this about sums it up. It's a training exercise and isn't intended to be entertaining. These games are about getting the squad together and giving international minutes to inexperienced players. This game wasn't going to be entertaining whether the final score was 0-0 or 5-0.

Some of you wonder why BFC prefer to play friendlies away from the supporters.

Typical friendly before a tournament. Hoping the Euro’s games will be more intense with the first team playing. Why aren’t we playing in white?

Bit difficult to get new chants given it's different fans every time England play though isn't it. Not sure what you're expecting song wise.

The goalkeepers on the bench were closer to the action than Pickford.

Thought that was a very typical performance of a group of players who have just finished a gruelling Premier League (and other leagues) season and are now building back up towards a Euros championship.

Southgate is a brilliant international manager, he’s done wonders across the FA and with the England squad. He’s delivered consistently building towards this Euros.

I know he’s ex Blackburn but that Wharton is special.

Looked really sharp when he came on. I actually thought him and Grealish were excellent that second half o

He’s got Man City written all over him.

Technical ability is so unbelievably high. The crispness in his passes and his composure on the ball is next level.

He will mix it up everywhere,(except the keeper) even to the point of running out of inexperienced players to send out there, therefore playing experienced players in positions they’ve never played before just to be “progressive”. Enigmatic is the word that will be used to describe GS in the future… when he talks, I have to actually SEE the interview before I know it’s him and NOT Garth Crooks talking gobbledegook.

Yet ANOTHER tournament will pass us by… criminal considering the talent we have available.

Yeah, I read Bayern are keen this summer. His positioning and vision is sublime too, for a 20 year old, reminds me of Thiago. One-two touch, forward passes through the lines yet still completed 36/36 passes.

Yep. Was awesome against us at Ewood until Cork came on. Looks like Palace will triple their money on him and it could be fairly soon!

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised. Yes I totally agree, I think he’s very similar to Thiago but I would argue with maybe better physical attributes
