Passing on the sad news that Billy ( wiiliam Irvine ) passed away suddenly on tuesday night.
Many of you will have known/met him while following the clarets, he was a massive burnley fan who loved being a 'Belfast Claret' which he has passed onto his sons and grandsons.
Rest Easy Billy
UTC !!

RIP Willie Irvine. Met him when he was doing hospitality in the James Hargreaves. Lovely feller and a true Burnley legend.

The star player from my early days as a Claret. What a partnership with Andy Lochhead. Only met him once when he was hosting a match day, he was always my dad’s favourite player and he signed his programme that day! Happy memories. RIP Willie.

I can confirm it's not Willie the player as he's currently sat at the side of me. I knew Billy & his family and the Clarets have lost a great fan

I got a shock when follow up posts on this thread were suggesting it was the Willie Irvine I know well. Thanks to CTID for clearing that up. I did meet Billy Irvine once and so sorry to hear the sad news.

Had a drink with him and his son, who comes over to Burnley every so often, a few times through mutual friends.
Sure he will be flying the flag.
RIP Billy
