Luca Koleosho

Anyone know how he is doing? Unless I missed something, not much has been said about him recently. He tore the Championship up last time round and I have him as a key player next season. Providing, that is, that he returns in good time and is back to where he was. Rehab is a long process.

Fantastic start, especially when you consider he was 17 when the championship season started at Huddersfield

I don't think any of us will ever forget his flick flack celebration in front of the Longside after Barnesy shoved Kaminski into the back of the net.

If you want a reply on the Internet, make a mistake in your post.
People are far more likely to want to correct you than discuss the point you make.

On a serious note, for as good at dribbling as Koleosho is unless he improves his final ball and decision making then it will all be pointless in the same way Adama Traore is.
Yes Odobert and Koleosho on the wings will be exciting but it'd also be equally frustrating unless the things start to come from their final balls

I'm guessing Guitar George doesn't have dementia or if he does would likely not want it pointing out.

He made a mistake and is getting a bit of a ribbing.

On the upside he know all the chords...! George put us out of our misery and fess up the error and tell everyone to f*ck off......!

I was thinking Koleosho right, Oddobert CAM, Tresor right. Foster up top.

With Zaroury and Benny on the bench waiting to come on when those guys have knackered them out.

Just imagine.

Theres a long way to go in the transfer windows given it opened today and I accept it’s unlikely we’ll have all 3 when it shuts but what a prospect it is to watch that front line in the Championship.

If we can keep these two in the Championship they have the potential to be the best ever wingers at this level. There really isn't much more you could ask for in terms of talent.

It's just a case of making sure they perform. Easier said than done but the potential is there.

I think we’ll struggle to keep both, but if we did we’d be a frightening prospect for any team next year.

And we might get to see it in August anyway - so much of the transfer activity happens in the final weeks.

Critically, we should keep Zaroury and Benny to push them all the way. We have a lot of games to play and need to consider injuries.

Dribbles like a champ but can't finish at dinner based on all I've seen to date.

Never had any inside information before and never consequently posted any. By pure fluke I had contact with someone directly connected to Koleosho (not a Burnley connection) who said he wants out and was looking for a move to Spain. I don’t want to elaborate but hope it doesn’t come about.

He'll struggle for that, I would have thought, not proved his fitness yet after a serious injury, long contract so would bring a big fee, which I doubt any club would gamble doing.

Would be surprised if a Spanish club could afford him.

I do remember a big interview at the start of the season talking about Kompany being the reason he chose to sign for us and his mum saying Kompany was the perfect manager for him.
Now he's left and we've been relegated he must be wondering what reason there is to stay. He's proven himself to be an exciting talent at the level above so I doubt he's too keen to stick around.

Guessing that he was happy enough to sign a 4 year deal though!

Not suggesting that Luca has said he wants out at all btw, but there seems to be a real sense of entitlement with some younger players - particularly by ones that haven't particularly done anything of note in their short careers.

Yes, with Kompany as manager and with Premier League football. He wouldn't have signed for us in the Championship, there was apparently a lot of competition for his signature.
He had a good season personally and if he thinks he needs to move on I think it's fair enough, circumstances have changed drastically since when he signed.

Again - he was happy enough to sign a 4 year deal to a team that had just been promoted.

He had an alright season yeah then had a pretty torrid injury. Two more years out of Luca would be about right I feel - one season getting back fit and firing and hopefully one season showing that he's kicked on in the PL.

He may have signed for Kompany, but who's to say that a new manager might not get even more out of him?

I'm not arguing with your point of view. It's just quite a naive way of looking at it. No clubs going to offer him a 1 year deal when signing him for a fee.
Sure he signed for 4 years but we all know that doesn't mean he will be here for that length of time. There's no loyalty in football.

Of course they wouldn't and no, it isn't naive one bit... It leads to a wider point in how important it is in recruitment (And again, i'm not suggesting that this is Luca's attitude) to sign players that really 'buy in' for the medium/long term. It's far better for squad harmony, cohesion and our ability as a collective to punch above our weight.

Revolving doors on a dressing room doesn't end well - see Watford.

He probably did buy in to the long term 'project' Of Kompany. He's now manager less as a young player in a foreign country in a lower division.

If you read the athletic interview he did, you could see how important the manager was in his and his family's selection of club. It's probably one of the new managers primary jobs to either get players buying in or ship them out ASAP.

15 million is an awful lot to pay for someone who has still to recover from a serious injury
Perhaps in Jan if he proves his fitness and form.

I don’t sense any entitlement with Luca, and tbf he was pictured at the TST with JJ and he’sworked his socks off for us when playing, but I agree with your point that players were happy to sign a 4 year deal when they joined. It’s hardly our VK left (them, as well as us) so we should be clear we’re not being forced in to selling players.

That said, feel it’s also incumbent on us to find a manager that will actually excite these young talents, both existing and new (I.e. not Rosenior or Robbins).

The same Rosenior known for developing young talent at Hull last season and attracting the likes of Fabio Carvalho over Southampton?

Fair enough, I think you could be surprised, continuation of Kompany’s style (more or less), and young himself. And anyway I think the club need to stand its ground a bit like Leeds ended up doing with Summerville and Gnonto.

I’m a little underwhelmed by this player and because I would like to see a complete re-set, I wouldn’t be disappointed if he didn’t play for us again. A good trier though and does look like he has potential to excite , a lot of work needed on his end product.
