Keane playing tonight so I’ll record that, as I’m going to see Killers in Manchester. Also want to see Apollo Junction. They’re playing today and my mate is in the band.

Unlikely as he has been dead for nearly 30 years

Just caught up with last nights brilliant Johnny Marr. Sadly they only showed 3 Smiths ditties.
An old time Claret in his crowd.

I got your point, even if the others didn't.

Some great artists on at the festivals this summer but it's all got a bit has-been hasn't it?

Saw the brief highlights of The K’s on You Tube earlier. Excellent band - probably the best I’ve seen live this year.

Died in June 1995 - nearly 30 by my reckoning…

Pedantry of the highest order, I know - but wasn’t it Taste at The IOW Festival? That’s certainly the album I had…

Yes, it was indeed Taste.

I forgive your pedantry being guilty of of it myself on the odd occasion.

I've spent much of my life as a pro guitarist and Rory was my biggest influence.

Thank you, Doug. Truly wasn’t trying to be a smartarse.
Although I have no musical ability, I was a huge Rory fan in my youth. I was too young to have seen Taste live, but saw Rory many times. Best venue was Birmingham Town Hall, which then (mid-70s);had seating in the round. Great atmosphere, great gig.
Taste’s bassist, Ritchie Mc Cracken, was from my home town (…see what I did there…)
Great memories.

One of the last performances I saw of his was at the NEC, really not a great venue to see him but he was still unbelievable.

Green Day are one of the best headliners IOW have had in years.

They've had some good headliners over the years. I went in 2005 when REM were on and again in 2007 when The Rolling Stones headlined. Amy Winehouse, god rest her soul, was on in 2007 as well. It's a great festival, like a mini Glasto. Very chilled and relaxed, unlike the old V or Leeds festivals at Temple Newsom. They were chav-central. Always full of Mancs and Scousers - bloody awful!

That's me! Great weekend at the festival. Johnny Marr was amazing as were Green Day. Enjoyed the Lilacs and new Stockport band The Rolling People.

Haven’t watched the Green Day set yet but they never let you down. Busy weekend for music over here on top of IoW we’ve had live shows from Foos, Oasis & ZZTop, all on the box I might add. Body isn’t up to festivals anymore.

As my username would suggest I am local to the festival and I know its personal opinions but Greenday were very very good yesterday ! As good a headliner I have seen here in a long time ! Opinion made 🙂
