Anyone know what is happening on Brunshaw Road? Seems to be a flood and some reports of damage to the road?

Just found it, there are some videos on FB too. Looks horrific. That won't be repaired any time soon.

Water has been pouring down there for over a week.

Last Flood on Brunshaw Road caused issues as well.

It was on the Radio 2 travel news earlier this morning, but they said the location was "Yorkshire Road" close to Centenary Way. Couldn't pronounce Centenary correctly either

At least they got the town correct

No one uses Brunshaw Road much these days due to the chaos on Yorkshire Street. It’s only been a year though

The leak was reported a week ago, if they'd have acted sooner it wouldn't have got this bad. Water companies take our money but don't like spending when it comes to repairs.

The gable end house and the 1 above it, just above the speed camera, are shuttered up and appear empty. Last week I saw a large pile of clay in the garden of the gable house and workmen filling skips of the clay. My thought was, they were either underpinning the house or digging out for a cellor, which of either would lead to building subsidence.
This afternoon a water tanker lorry was parked on nearby Lyndhurst Rd and 3 more were on lower Brunshaw Ave. From what I've been told Brunshaw Rd has also caved in. The nearby local schools were closed, as they'd no water supply.

Let's hope they don't have an Engineer from LCC involved in the road repair work, or it could be months of a job.

No point trying to maintain a crumbling Victorian water infrastructure when you can keep all the profits to yourself.

Be thankful it's water, instead of millions of gallons of shite.

Dread to think how long this will take to sort out. Like the traffic in Burnley isn't bad enough

According to local residents, reported to United Utilities TWO weeks ago, no action taken.

Not fit for purpose, yet at some point in the future these water companies will be demanding the taxpayer to step in to sort out all the years of underinvestment in their infrastructure.

Was hoping to read that they were going to fit cable cars. Getting hard work for me now walking back to pike hill after a game.

That’s what happens when critical infrastructure companies are sold off to foreign investors, creamed off the profits and then crank prices up when the system needs upgrading

It’s weird how UU work . 2 weeks ago I reported a tiny leak from my stopcock in the pavement , next day an engineer with a can of spray paint had been and circled it, day after team came and repaired it ! Wouldn’t have mattered if it had been left a lot longer but major leak on a main road is left until it explodes ?
