Surely it’s the Spanish “ Cojones” gesture ? Though pretty valid in many euro nations . Hopefully he won’t get a ban for gesturing he’s got the balls .

Sadly billy big bo££ocks will probably miss the game against the Swiss for that gesture.
Who else would think they could get away with it, Jude?

Only a matter of time before you won't be allowed to celebrate goals because it will be deemed ableism.
Someone in a wheelchair couldn't do what Bellingham did yesterday for instance.

If Bellingham was suspended and Foden played central I bet we'd play better as a team.

We can just get knocked out playing regular average football Mr Southgate, not because a silly footballer did something silly.

With Gordon on the left and Palmer on the right, it would be interesting.
Would Safegate have the balls to keep him out if we did, having his ‘Alf Ramsay’ moment, who kept Greavsie out of the 66’ final?

I don’t think so, I think Foden is very much a system player. He’s been pretty poor for England his whole career

I think we both know the answer to that - no chance.
But I've been banging this drum for a while. Foden should be central and have the team built around him.
Put it one way, if it's between Foden or Bellingham it's Foden every time.

I think Claretskeith has a point. It is looking horribly like Foden and Bellingham can’t play together but impossible to see Southgate dropping either. I’d prefer Bellingham to be the one who keeps his place but Foden at and Gordon or Eze playing on the left wing would surely make us more threatening. Alternatively play Toney as a two with Kane and keep Foden wide if he really has to play.
I still think we will need to wait for a decent manager before anything clicks into gear with this lot but Bellingham suspended might not be the disaster the media will make it out to be.

Foden created 4 chances by himself vs Denmark as soon as he allowed to play more central. He's not being played where he should.

Not sure I agree, his best game in an England shirt came against Senegal when he played of the left wing.
If I’m honest I think he’s a player that’s flattered to deceive his whole England career. I really thought this was the tournament where he stepped up.
Also worth noting he played a third of his games this season on the left wing as well

You see I think it depends on the opposition. The 3 group games I personally would have played 1 holding midfielder in Rice. And have Foden and Bellingham both as number 10s essentially. Southgate is far too negative.

Not sure what you have been watching. What about the times he's improved when moved inside? He's been excellent.
And look at him when out left. A total waste of his talent for England on the touchline.

I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever seen Foden have a man of the match performance for England.
He’s looked great in flashes but he never consistently performs like he does for city

At risk of repeating myself, this is because he doesn't play central. For Man City he has a lot more freedom.
Watch him closely vs Switzerland. He's likely to play on the left again but watch him when he comes inside.

I think both Grealish and Rashford are a better fit than Foden and Saka because they have learned to the play game in a different way. Saka and Foden look like players who are expert at one way of playing, and whilst they are a superior talent to almost every other player in their position, they don't seem to be able to affect a game when they aren't in control. Players like Grealish, Rashford, Palmer, Gordon, Eze tend to force that kind of control actively rather than passively, and there's a lot to be said for being able to produce a positive input in a poorer side.

Classless and lacking in sportsmanship but nothing the most battle hardened offence taker could contrive into something bannable.
I see Vertonghen had been giving Mbappe grief in his pre match interviews too.

Quite the opposite in fact - he has a very regimented role in a well drilled outfit when playing for City.
Ancelotti/Madrid has a lot less rigidity and allows his players a lot more attacking freedom - which normally translates well into knockout tournament football, where you really have to 'feel' games and seize momentum shifts.
Foden is obviously a very talented player - no question there. The problem for me is that the space in which he likes to occupy and do his best work in is also a place where Kane likes to, be fore attacking the box late or making himself available at the edge of the box for a pullback.
That's why for me we shouldn't play a '10' if we play Harry Kane, who, at this stage in his career is a deep lying forward, who will operate better in a 4-3-3 with two widemen providing an inbehind threat eitherside of him OR with a strike partner up top.

The response on here to Jude doing a 'Michael Jackson' (USA), seems very different to when a similar gesture was done by a World Cup winning Argentinian goalkeeper.

What do you disagree with? Foden doesn't have freedom at City - absolutely no player that plays for Pep (that's not called Lionel Messi) has ever had freedom on the pitch.

Christ! Some people love to hate our world class stars! Beckham, Rooney, Kane etc. Bellingham has a complete winning mentality and gives his all when he plays. He has unbelievable ability and should be starting every game. In this side and system I’d prefer to see him next to Rice pushing forward with Foden in front of him.
As for the punishment, it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Foden on the left would have a lot more chance of working if we had a LB occupying their RB higher up the pitch. Same with walker, who got forward once I think I'm the first game and we nearly scored. If you have no width stretching the pitch there's no room for Bellingham or Foden centrally.
