Sending a little good luck message

Post by jdrobbo » Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:28 pm

Sometimes, a few positive vibes and well wishes are required.

You know who you are and I know the last few weeks have been heavy.

Fingers crossed that things become lighter soon!

Take care

John

Ps - for all those out there struggling at present, for whatever reason, consider sharing your worries. Hopefully, by doing so, it can be a help or comfort in some small way. Struggles often aren’t permanent but a helping hand can occasionally help shift them on their way a little quicker.

Great message. Well said. There is no such thing as permanent but when you have troubles and grief and stress it does seem like there is no end to it. But it does get easier and even if it never ends you do learn to cope eventually, but people do need help even if they don’t know it.
We should all take care of each other.

The thread is aimed, if aimed is the right word, at me. John knows I’ve had a tough few weeks and knows I have a hospital appointment tomorrow.

Thanks John, it is really appreciated.

Good luck Tony. Assume this relates to your hospital appointment so wishing you all the best with that.

Thanks all.

Just to explain: I have a lesion that has been labelled as suspected cancer. My first appointment was today at which they've taken photographs with some clever piece of equipment. I now have to wait up to eight weeks for news on the results.

I'm more at ease with it now than I have been, probably because I know I'm now in the system. Prior to today, I'll be honest, I've been frightened to death. It's seriously worrying when you receive a letter telling you that you are going to get an urgent hospital appointment for suspected cancer.

So pleased you're feeling happier about it now, Tony.
As you know, I've been through all this and come out the other side, and I'm sure you'll be the same.
When it comes to potentially serious problems, the NHS are still very effective in my experience.

Yes, the most frustrating (and, possibly, frightening) time is when you are waiting. Hope everything goes well for you, both over the next few weeks and in the months and years ahead.

Sorry to hear the circumstances Tony, that sounds unbelievably frightening. In my thankfully limited experience of these things, the NHS are brilliant so I’m sure you’ll be well looked after from here on in. Thoughts are with you.

Excellent that the process is underway and fingers crossed it's nothing sinister.

In my experience, an 8 week wait is a good sign as they aren't fast tracking anything. Hopefully it means they can't be too concerned.

Hi Tony-as you can see we are all hoping for a favourable outcome for you. I had a similar issue three years ago which was later diagnosed as a Lipoma (fatty cells growing under he skin), but prior to the outcome it was very concerning. The mind has a way of worrying you, so keep yourself busy to distract it. Hopefully unlike last season, by the time of your appointment we will have a few points on the board-no greater tonic. Take care

I posted on this thread that I'd been to hospital yesterday and I would hear from them within eight weeks. I wasn't so sure what to think when eight weeks proved to be twenty hours when I received an email this morning. Having plucked up the courage to and opened the attachment, I read that everything has been reviewed, the lesion is benign and I've been discharged.

Thanks to all of you who have posted on this and the previous thread to support me and to those of you who have contacted me privately. I can't tell you how much your support has meant over the last few weeks when I've not been at my best having this hanging over me.

Can I now dare to look forward to the new football season?
