He’s got to start well and that 4th game is going to be key to his acceptance.

Underwhelming but he’s our new gaffer so 100 % behind him.

Are seriously going to be like this all the time. It’s ******* boring. We had it with Eddie Howe just idiots constantly banging the drum, we had it with VK and now we have you with Parker. Give it a ******* rest ffs

He was a 100%-er as a player, that's for sure.

He wants to impose his culture, hopefully he will put an end to any cliquiness and I got the strong impression he's going to keep Craig Bellamy on. I hope he does, it's more experience to tap into.

Just listened to his interview and I look forward to finding out the identity of the interpreter he will use.

I know the players all speak English - some as a 2nd or even 3rd language - but we do need someone to translate what he says into a recognisable version of the mother tongue.

Harsh. I know he's cockney but I thought he did well. I could understand him.

Definitely wasn’t my first choice, but I thought he spoke well in that interview. It’ll be interesting to see who his backroom staff are.

The use of “what” instead of “that” will take some getting used to, but I’m sure if I was ever interviewed on camera someone could easily pull me to bits.

What happened to saying when he’s appointed, you would get behind in, you are completely in your own head now about Parker

Apart from the over use of ‘in that sense’ I thought he came across well, as expected talked about hard work and talked about needing the fans. We aren’t going to walk the league we have to get behind him.

The interesting part was him saying kompany and Bellamy spoke to him back in 2022 about the championship

If he could kindly single out all the wet lettuces that didn't want to get stuck in last season and just play them this on repeat as their opening session.

Then that would be great :P

We will get behind him. On paper he’s proven in this league. It’s the step up to the prem I’m worried about but he’s still young and he’s hopefully learned a lot. Cmon you clarets!!!

A little concerned over his comment about the numbers being against us, did he say 1 in 22?
We should be very close to favourites.

He was referring to only 3 teams being able to go up , stating that 3 from 24 is a tough ask but emphasising that’s why as a collective everyone involved with the club needs to work hard etc

Interesting interview.

Seemed very serious. Not loads of substance, a lot of what you would normally except a new manager to say was peddled out, but then I appreciate he has just signed up. I’d do think he was a bit more negative (maybe cautious) than I’d expected.
Got us ready for ‘the bumps’ in the long hard season, but then maybe that’s just his way of confirming /accepting / preparing everyone for how much change in the playing squad is needed and how tough that’s going to be.

For me yes, I see it though as a gentle reminder that anyone who doesn’t give their all won’t be playing for him . Battling on the pitch for everything , not shirking challenges ….tresor against Luton haunts me.

Parker will need the patience and the support kompany got in his first 5 months in charge but he can go a long way to getting that patience and support on august 31st

A brilliant no nonsense interview. Learned more about him just listening to what he was saying, than the extensive research I have been doing on him on the internet. A no nonsense guy, with good virtues (not dissimilar to SD's), who will demand 100% from the players. I think if he can unify the team we could become a good team again, and hopefully the relationship with Bellamy will be a strong one.Good luck Scotty

Agreed -Parker's tenacious, hard tackling playing style reminded me of my lifetime hero Brian O Neil. I think he will demand the same tenacity from his team.

What a great interview. I remember as a player he was a good mix of silk and steel. I saw some real emotion and passion a but also a steeliness that I like.

Would love to see this mix translated into the pitch. Exciting. UTC!

once he recognises the difference between "what's , and that's" he will fit in perfectly.
good interview, I think he gets it.
knows the game at varying levels, and won't want a failure on his CV.

I've watched it back, it was better the second time around as I managed to ignore the what/that basic issue. I like his serious let's not f^ck about get the job done attitude. Sounds like the players will need to buy in, I suspect he won't suffer fools.

The problem for a manager that isn’t a widely popular choice, is he needs to make good start, especially that 4th game, or it will turn sour then toxic very quickly. It’s not right or fair, but it’s sadly the reality.
