ARTICLE: Parker for the opposition

Scott Parker said in his interview that the Turf is a hard place to come (something he has based on past experiences I would have thought and not having looked at last season's results).
He played against us five times, two of them on the Turf, and he managed against us three times, one of them on the Turf. (and I hope I've got that right and not missed a game). Here's how his teams got on in those games.

Wasn’t a tough place last season unless your team had a man sent off
We had a 100% record against 10 men
Teams got soaked to the skin ******* themselves at how we rolled over for them

Wouldn’t be saying that if he’d managed/played against us last season

A lot of managers-Lampard, Arteta, Gary O'Neil, Thomas Frank to mention a few, have said very recently that Turf Moor is a difficult place to come despite a disastrous 2023/24 for our club. You need to take it in the same context as when foreign players have been signed by other clubs and people start saying "but how will he enjoy playing at Stoke City on a cold and wet Tuesday night"

Very good piece. Would love to hear Paces rationale for his appointment

A rather negative and irrelevant article (imo).
The past has gone but SP was a top player with two promotions on his managerial record.
A decent, if predictable interview, so let’s be positive about the future UTC.

Why is it negative? It was based on his comment and thought it might be interesting to see when he’d come up against us.

I found it an interesting read. Thanks CT for doing the research and relaying it to us.

It seemed to me that it was just drawing attention to the fact he had not done very well against us as a manager.
I want to feel positive about this appointment and look forward not back.

It was drawing attention to something he'd said in his interview and how difficult it was at the Turf. Sorry you have interpreted it in the way you have but you've got my intentions 100% wrong.

Nothing negative in it at all, or positive for that matter.
It appears to me to be purely a factual study of Scott Parker's interaction with Burnley during his career.
This post is another example of the ridiculous nature of some people on this board, desiring to find fault/negativity in everything written.

To all who seem to be ‘uninspired’ by the signing of Parker please cast your mind back a few years. We signed a chap called Dyche and nearly everyone went ‘who?’ The rest is history.

Exactly and Watford fans were having a good giggle I bet, but we had the last laugh, he gets a chance same as everyone else.
