So happy with this. As people have said on the other thread he created the most chances for us last season on hugely reduced minutes. He’s proven at this level and is a great option still.
Most importantly, he gets the club, he knows what’s needed to get out of this division and even if he’s not the most vocal he’ll be able to help lead the dressing room. Can’t see any downsides to this one really! Welcome back JBG!

Think this shows promising signs about Alan Pace's learnings from.last season. Seems to be suggest that hes realised how important experience is in showing the young ones what's required.

Positive news for a number of reasons. Very happy to see him back. I think 9 out of 10 fans would have wanted him to stay.

Very happy JBG has returned.
I don't know what has gone on last season, behind the scenes, but something had obviously gone very wrong in the camp.

Delighted. I'd have given him 2 years. Just shy of 34 is very different in 2024 to 2014 or 2004. Sport science is hitting the turning point look how many old boys are still standouts at the Euros.
Wide he could still hack it in the Championship but I think he's still Prem quality central, a versatile player with the kind of raw talent that doesn't go away. Didn't feel right that he was going and glad he's back

What went wrong? Players like Muric, Benson, etc. not being given a chance even when we were losing and new signings not cutting it.

We with Sean for 5 years VK 2 years and declined an extension under VK. VK leaves and within 12hr of new manager coming in and after a chat with AP on plane home recently he re-signs. Occam's razor would say all these events connected

That was a JBG moment when he led the team at Middlesbrough with none of us having a clue what was coming

I really rate JBG and am so pleased that he has re signed.
I also now rate A Pace & S Parker for making it happen as I would imagine JBG had plenty of offers.
I would also imagine he told AP a few home truths about last season.

He said he never wanted to leave in the first place, which means his relationship with the previous manager must have really soured.

I have a picture of him celebrating his goal v Palace on Nov 5th 2016 with Dean Marney in the Frame with the Dean Marney signed shirt in my Office at home ... always liked JBG and this news has made my day today

Well he did leave the club, so I think he ought to be included.
My suggestion would be:-
JBG ( Unattached )

went wrong first game of the season against City where a bunch of strangers who hadn't been at the club 5 minutes were starting and the championship team sat on the bench ...

I'm really happy he's back but Pace should have acted before Xmas and we might not have been in this situation, but it shows Kompany was untouchable..

Tell you what, Tony has been bang on the money with both the Bellamy situation, Jenson position, head coach and JBG info this summer, as usual.
Tony - JBG said he’d met Pace on a flight back from Amsterdam. Did you hear anything on any other Dutch candidates? I was told one was in the running but not RVN (who I was told was discounted quickly for wanting too much control, but that conflicted completely with the media who reported on him after I’d heard that) - wondering if that was duff info or there was another Dutch guy in the mix?

Hadn't thought about that. He probably gave away a bit more than he intended with that comment
