Whilst I like all this and appreciate what they are doing it seems a ridiculous waste of money.

I've yet to watch this, but didn't the team recover three of the crew who were still missing? The Dutch Govt paid for it. The Dutch run an aircraft recovery programme. They do this - in their words; 'to do something for the Allies for what they did for us'. I don't consider it to be a ridiculous waste of money. Quite the opposite.

He does make some good programmes, the great escape remake jump and an electric car trip to Scotland spring to mind.

Its the Dutch Gov doing it to thank the Allies for freeing them from the occupation by Nazi Germany for 4+ years ...

Watch in full here, great programme ... I'm now 60 and grew up in the 70's When I was 13, a man who was 22 in 1944 who'd have served in WW2, would have been been in his mid fifties, five years younger than I am now. Frightening thought ...

Guy's Prog's are always worth a watch.

Always well researched and well made. He always sticks with it too, some Projects / Prog's took years to finish.
His genuine respect and enthusian for his Topics / Prog's always shines.

Equally on all his many projects it is very clear he is clearly respected for knowing his stuff and his tallents.

Well worth checking out ALL of his other stuff.

Yep.
Dib's Without any H&S... :o

Both with huge knowledge and Passion.

That said there is now way Dib's would be allowed to do what he did for TV - it was his job filmed at first... What a Character, What a Man.
As Guy said "Had Ballls to do that"

There’s some cracking Fred Dibnah stuff on YouTube. Climbing rickety old ladders hundreds of feet up with no safety harness after several lunchtime pints.
