Good. Not a fan and don't really see any reason for him still being at the club

Fair play to him. Wonder if Jensen will become Parker’s assistant in that case.

Good luck to him, and only they know what the vibe is at the club - I hope a “new broom” can sweep all the bad stuff away, but similarly I thought it could have been useful to have the continuity. All in all I just hope the players are happy with the new setup.

Any ideas on who is to become the assistant 'head coach' instead? I did see Tony post earlier that Jonathan Hill will join the staff, but not sure if that is the role he would take on.

I’m sure it’s too good a proposition to turn down, but he’s going to have to work miracles to achieve anything with them.

The peak Bale/Ramsey years are over and they are firmly heading down the other side.

Some of the most successful partnerships in football have known one another for years,it could be a huge gamble teaming Parker up with a guy he hasn’t worked with before.

Suspect Parker was made aware this likely to happen, and may have someone in mind to join him

Believe he's the data analyst

Can’t believe Parker is already falling out with people. Looks like the start of an exodus.

Really liked the guy and all his interviews were brilliant when talking about tactics or the club. I Wish him all the best

Might well be the best solution all round. If Bellamy was genuinely interested in the Burnley job then it’s always going to be awkward working under the guy who beat you to the job.

Think we should all give our thanks to Craig for staying on and ensuring there was a smooth hand over to Parker, sorting out training etc whilst we were still managerless.

We'd have been in a right mess if everyone cleared off and we had players back without any longer standing staff around the building.

All the best Bellers.

I guess he has to take it, goes down in history and likely to get another job at the back end of it.

At the risk of sounding like an aggrieved scouser, I presume we'll be due " Compo ", to add to that from Bayern Munich ?

So we now need a GK coach and an assistant?

I am glad the job of Wales manager has gone to Craig rather than Thierry Henry, they were almost joint favourites for the role when I checked last week. Henry will be far too busy with all of his commercial sponsorship and far better that the job goes to an ex Wales player.
Good luck Craig and thanks for your input whilst with Burnley.

Why , who else had offered him a job ?

Good luck to him. He’s really turned his life around over the last few years.

Always acted with professionalism and spoke well when needed at Burnley.

Good luck to him, really wanted him to stay but you have to be happy for him. Came across really well here.

Article states it’s being agreed with Burnley. Looks like we’re receiving compensation for a second coach in one summer?

Good luck to him. He did his bot for Burnley. I suspect he also disobeyed instructions when subbing for the suspended manager. That's OK by me.

A bit gutted by this, but you can’t begrudge him the move.

Suspect this has been on the cards for a while and was why he didn’t go to Bayern with VK. Maybe he hoped to get the Burnley job which would have a higher salary and decided to go when he lost out to Parker.

Re compensation it seems managers contracts are paid up so if there’s 3 years left on his contract at £2m a year then compo is £6m
No idea what an assistant coach gets - maybe £25Ok - perhaps we'll get around £1m using the same rules

I suspect that you're wrong in your assumption why he didn't go with VK.

Good luck to the lad. The opportunity to manage your country doesn't come along often and I'm sure he'll be very proud to take over.

Kompany to Bayern and Bellamy to Wales off the back of an utterly rudderless and disastrous season certainly isn't something I saw happening!! Talk about failing upwards.

I'd have been very happy to see him stay and work as an assistant to Parker, especially as he's had a great deal to do with recruiting many of the current squad and working with them over the past couple of seasons, but ultimately as others have said, he's a passionate Welshman and it's a great job for him and he'd be silly to turn it down.

Things are slotting in nicely for us. Someone took VK off us and paid for the privilege. Wales are offering Craig a job which means he can become a manager of his country, and lets face it many were fearing him becoming our manager. This means Parker, if he wishes, and is allowed ,can bring in a right hand man who he knows and has worked with before, and we still have Jackson for continuity. And its all happened a good month before our first game

Good Luck to CB it’s a job he couldn’t really turn down some good words about his time at Burnley and to the fans which is a lot more than anything we got from VK.
