i presumed the fact that no location had been confirmed yet pretty much meant it wont be in Cadiz

Any source for that or are you guessing? I'd not be booking any flights yet

They play Blackpool on Friday and their fans still don't know where the game is being played yet

I think that’s probably likely and the club did stress not to book flights. I suspect it might be close to the training camp. But only 18 days away now.

They're just training sessions to prepare professional athletes for a competition. I don't get how/why people get so worked up about them.

I'm in the area at the time, and if it had been at Cadiz' stadium we'd have gone to watch. But if it's just at some training pitch somewhere I'm confident there'll be better things to do on holiday.

Quite a lot of us living in the area and waiting to find out where it will be played.
They are playing on the 30th July against Al Jazira and the recently renovated La Linea Stadium near Gibraltar.
Think we are the highest profile team of the friendlies so hoping it will be at the Nuevo Mirandilla which has a capacity of 20,724. Think we would sell a decent amount of tickets as lots of clarets in the Andalucia region. Plus in the announcement it said we are playing them before going to the training camp which as others have said could be the H10 in Estepona which they used for a mid-season break before.

I’m keeping my ears to the ground around Estepona to see if their facilities are being used, not much being said but they do have many top German sides there for training camps, now has Europes biggest climbing wall & a state of the art velodrome being built on the sports site.

Ah yes my mistake, then it could be played at Estepona's ground which has a capacity of 8,000

Fly to malaga few days in Marbs if so (for us coming from England)?

If you're in the area, Malaga have a friendly the week before:
The club today have announced details of Malaga’s first Pre season friendly. It will be against neighbours Almeria Amat the Marbella Football Centre on the 27th of this month. A 19:30 kick off has been scheduled.
(I suspect that ko time could be moved later, weather dependent)

If it’s at a hotel, turn up and put a beret on and pretend to be Dave Burnley. You might get on as a sub in the second half!

Absolutely. Estepona would be better for quite a few of us in the area, my only worry would be getting tickets. Just wish they would announce so we can sort out.

From the spanish version of their official site but google translated:
Cádiz CF and Burnley FC, as already happened in the summer of 2021, will meet in a friendly on Sunday, August 4, starting at 7:00 p.m. The match, with a venue to be determined, is the second confirmed preseason friendly.

My mates got pictures with the burnley players going into training today. They asked Brownhill where the Cadiz match is being played and he said he thinks it's somewhere near Mercia

That’s at least 8 hours away by road, much better facilities a lot closer unless their training camp is up that way?

There must be a reason for it. Like I say, that's what brownhill told them. Looks like I'll be doing a couple of days in Seville and no match which I can live with

I don’t understand anyone saying it doesn’t matter that the games are behind closed doors. One of my Norwich mates is in Belgium today watching them play Standard Liege. Great memories to have when you support clubs like ours.

I was really disappointed I couldn’t get to any of the games last year but they were all such short notice. The trips I enjoyed most was when we played two games so got a few days away.

I went to Aberdeen and olympiakos when we played in Europe and they're memories that will stick with me forever. I started watching Burnley in 97 and never thought I'd do anything like that.
Last summer, we'd just won the league at Ewood and finished on 100+ points. Again I never thought I'd see anything like that. Went to the Genk game after staying in Brussels and it felt like a European away game.
I'd love for the club to arrange a european friendly away and give the fans a week or two notice so we can all enjoy where the club is these days.
Hopefully next pre season, we can be looking forward to top flight football, continuity from Parker and a sparkling European away game for the fans (and a warm up and bonding for the players.)

I also went to all the Europa Cup games and Genk and cannot see the obsession with secrecy.
Knobbers play near Benidorm annually and the fans go but that isn’t something our current board are in favour of

I too love the little European jaunts. The club is making it as hard as possible to attend. We have known about the Cadiz friendly and the date. To not announce the venue is absurd as it is two weeks away, prices go up daily to Malaga as the date nears. You could gamble but then it could not be Malaga as the nearest airport. Looks like we are not going Spike!! Memories of Genk are a long way off now!

I don't think they're doing it on purpose, I think it's just the usual, poor organisation.
Hopefully fans groups can start impressing on them how much we'd like a European away game with plenty of notice.
I remember the Genk game being difficult to get tickets for as an example.
I accept pre season is for getting the squad ready, but even if they fielded a team of reserves or youngsters, I'd be up for going to a good one.

I fail to see how Cadiz not knowing the venue for a home friendly against us yet, has anything to do with Burnley unless they have sent us venue proposals and we have rejected them I guess.

I suspect Cadiz are non-committal on the venue.
The club know this and are therefore unwilling to say until 100%, knowing full well people will book trips as soon as its announced.

It is ten days away, this is Sunday League stuff, if Cadiz cannot find a pitch then we should find someone else to play.
If the pitch is sorted then Spike is right about our club disengagement. It is a friendly for goodness sake so no advantage for Cadiz not telling us.
Fans are not welcome at this one it would seem. Is this the first season in memory that BFC fans have not seen the players kick a ball prior to the season? Gone are the days of them inviting Dave Burnley to play (scoring twice)

. Let's move on and hope that Luton still play at Kenilworth Road on the12th August.
