Has anyone been affected by the Microsoft outage this morning? Seems to be mainly banks and airports.

It’s Crowdstrike that caused BSOD across everything with a dodgy update. Only Windows devices affected.

Yes I’m an IT guy. No I’m not working today as I’m in for my colonoscopy. Having a camera crew up my jacksy is much more preferable to fixing worldwide BSOD issues I’ll tell ya :D

Yep. Waiting for a flight from Corfu to Manchester. Total chaos. They are checking people in manually. God knows how long we will be delayed for

Crowdstrike to blame. (A piece of cyber security software, which deployed an update overnight which is BSODing both Windows 10 and 11 devices).

Microsoft had an outage last night which has been resolved but they are taking all the flack.

This is going to go on for weeks - the fix is to boot the local machine in safe mode and delete a file, which can't be done en mass and will probably require firms technical teams to sort. (Yes, I'm in IT and gladly not affected).

I'm using Windows 10 and turned my automatic updates off.

Do you use Crowdstrike? If not, no issue.

I hope you aren't awaiting this mornings Tui flight from MAN to Corfu as it has returned to MAN. I was watching it on FlightRadar and circling overhead in Clayton and it's undercarriage appeared to be jammed half way out.

No but knowing my luck I'll still be affected. :)

I'm about to head off to my local GPs to pick up a prescription. They aren't great at the best of times so this should be fun.

Luckily ours is the other Manchester flight landed in Corfu 50 minutes late. Going to be a long day. Corfu airport is chaotic enough without this as well

My wife is a Practice Manager (at one of the more efficient East Lancashire GPs) and was aware of the outage at 8am this morning. She immediately added a message for incoming calls from patients to notify them that all systems were down.....but they just ignore it and continue to try and get through! Incidentally, she had been on the case for a good 90 minutes trying to solve the problem before an email was sent fron central NHS HQ to notify surgeries of the issues!

Mrs G hasn’t been able to get her prescription sorted this morning. Thankfully not critical for us but there will be many impacted for whom it will be critical.

Mine has already been done (yesterday), so in theory it should be a simple case of picking it up. But one of them doesn't seem to know what day it is when I ask her for a prescription, so anything could still happen.

All pharmacies, GPs and hospitals will have paper backup plans in place for instances like this - it just takes more than a few hours to get those processes stood up.

Has impacted devices at my workplace - thankfully I didn't reboot my laptop last night so have been able to continue working (or unluckily, depending on your view!).

I flew back to Manchester from Spain yesterday afternoon and it took about one hour queuing to check our bags in. Flight left half an hour late so overall not too bad. Have to say the Jet2 staff were very good. The only issue we had was the Airbus A321 Neo has the worst legroom ever.

Awful, awful, awful plane config.

The worst I think I've ever been on. I couldn't fit my legs into it.

Did you use the toilets at the back, they're comical.

Fortunately I didn’t need the loo. I had the window seat and trying to get out onto the aisle when we landed was bad enough.

Got back from Corfu after 5 hour delay. Feel so lucky, as people flights were being cancelled all around us. People left stranded in the airport with little information. People were queuing outside in 40 degree heat

I went to the races yesterday via train. Ticket machines were down at the station midday when I left so quite a big queue at the counter; it'll be bad Monday morning if this is still the case. Trains seemed to be mostly OK in the morning but well messed up when I came back after 17.00 (not necessarily the general IT problem of course).
No problem at the course with bookies IT systems though :D
