Remember one called Gate of India which was pretty fair
but was a few years ago. Not sure if it's still even open.

Coconut Grove South Indian Cuisine Ethos Court, City Road, Chester. On the road to the station Tel 01244 325888 Website www.koconutgrove.co.uk (spelling is a mystery to me as well) Strongly advise booking
Authentic "village" recipes in moden surrondings, excellent staff, licensed. Been three times and its very consistent short stroll from the canalside bars near the Steam Mill. I don't generally recommend places but this one is worth a visit. Not cheap but not dear either (for a city) Menu is on line so you can judge for yourself. BUT don't tell anyone else!

The last place I recommended on here in Edinburgh won high praise so hopefully I'm a reasonable judge.

Coconut Grove is more like Den Perry.

1539 I think it’s called - is the restaurant right on the race course. Not the cheapest, but I’ve been a few times. Always excellent.

Never been disappointed here, really flavoursome and most importantly for a Burnley bloke good size portions 😁
