CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
Does anyone know, where they went, from all around the outside of the ground, they should be put back, just not the same without them, maybe CT might know.
Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
But not in their original positions.
Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
Did someone let Gareth Southgate select them?

They dont really fit with the look of the stadium after some of the modernisations, do people really miss them?

Might be wrong but I think the supporters groups were involved in getting them commissioned in the first place. So yes the people involved probably do miss them.

Maybe alternative ones could be placed somewhere, i like the sentiment, just maybe not the execution.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 9:39 amMight be wrong but I think the supporters groups were involved in getting them commissioned in the first place. Great idea, great players, just thought they never looked right dotted around the Turf. Hopefully you can find a new home for them though.

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
I've confirmed this a number of times.
The club made it absolutely clear they did not want them anywhere on their footprint. We have an email from the chairman confirming they would be going back, he's since ignored further communication but the director of fan experience said they wouldn't be going back because Alan doesn't like them.
We do have somewhere for them but there has been difficulty in obtaining them from the club. That's now been achieved and I'll update when possible. Those who purchased them will need to be informed first of any development.

Bad situation first having the confirmation they would go back and then after being told they wouldn't the club then held on to them despite I presume the club not owning them since they weren't the purchasers in the first place.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 10:41 amI've confirmed this a number of times.

It is a poor reflection of the Chairman's attitude to the fans groups and the portraits.

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
Just goes to show that Alan as no affection for our great club by doing this, just like messing the transfer business up with our ex manager who in my view was allowed to run the club and made a mess of it and now Scott Parker as a job on is hands to sort it out. So back to original post i do hope those portraits have found a decent home for everyone to view . UTC..

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
They’d actually look far better now going back up after all the work than they did when they were up. They looked like we were trying to polish a turd (no offence to those involved). The ground would look far better for them.

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
Personally I think this is disrespectful to all the former players, their families and the supporters. Why do these people think they can just wipeout all the history of this club and think it’s ok to do this just to fit into their new footprint!! This club has well over 100yrs of history behind it and it should never be forgotten!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 10:41 amI've confirmed this a number of times.

Removing Photos stuck on the side of the stadium is not disrespectful. It doesn't change the history in the slightest

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
Wonder where the JJ Watt photo will be ?
Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
Maybe not but its not a great way to treat the supporters clubs who have paid for them and gone through the effort to provide them in the first place.
If the new regime(Pace) doesn't want them there then the least they could do was be honest and keep the supporters clubs informed. I don't think thats too much to ask is it?

Firstly take a breath. You must be exhausted. "Alan" isn't reading this board. I did like pictures of the players but if "Alan" didn't then it is what it is.
Calm down your rant changes nothing.
To the supporters clubs who arranged them, fair play, I hope they reappear somewhere we can all enjoy them again. UTC.

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
I liked them and wondered where they had gone when they came off.
It’s how my lad learned about them by just talking about them as we passed.
Trying to look at it objectively though…
The Chairman has invested a lot in digital screens
=
Doesn’t want anything in contrast to the digital screens.
Possible Solution:
Include the images of the club legends on the digital screens on the rotation that plays out.
Could this be suggest by the powers that be ?

Re: CLARETS PLAYERS PORTRAITS TURF MOOR.
I understand why he wouldn't want them and ive no issue with that, it's the way he's handled it though. No reason they couldn't have gone on the old sports hall or walk way past the cricket club.
Big slip up really, considering it was a fan initiative.
