Just had a look at the seat maps for the first three games and there isn’t many empty seats at all.
£55 is too expensive but the number of seats at that price are extremely limited due to the number of season tickets bought in those areas and probably will still be snapped up by those who can afford it.
If we are playing well, I’d still expect the Turf to be fairly full every game.

That would be a tipping point for me. I could probably afford it, but that's not the point. No way would I pay that to watch a league game. I'd choose the armchair option.

Or buy a ticket in a cheaper part of the ground

Cheapest adult ticket is £35 Jimmy Mac lower.
Longside lower £45
Longside upper wings £47
Longside upper centre £55
Bob Lord wings £47
Bob Lord centre £55
I wouldn’t be paying those prices.

Even if we sell out every game, and Pace & co have got this spot on from a purely business perspective, £55 is prohibitively expensive for the average fan.
This doesn't feel like a sensible long term strategy designed to encourage the locals to get on board. I'm really disappointed with the club for this

These are only for Cat A games, though.
What were comparative ticket prices in the last promotion season, out of interest?

This is the problem with these kind of topics.
There will be a small number of tickets available at this price. No mention that this price is for the dearest seat in a Cat A game. Makes no mention cheaper tickets for the same game are available in other seats or the fact other games in Cat B & C are cheaper.
Do I think £55 is too much yes but very few tickets are this price.

Best way put your feet up in nice warm surroundings with ice cold cans/bottles in the fridge no queuing no extortion prices for substandard beer. As delboy trotter would say lovely jubbly.

The club has to make money, but that does seem very steep, in a very short space of time. I hope it doesn't back fire on the club.

Little lad now has a season ticket with his mum so I was thinking about joining him on the rare occasion I'm not working.
I'm now not going to bother, those prices, if true, are an absolute disgrace for championship football.

Depressing how eager people are to defend the pricing of a second division football match at around £45-£55.
Following on from the crap around paying a fee to ’buy’ loyalty. It’s like we using all the tricks and pricing the big clubs use but for Championship football in a small town.
But hey, you can still pay just £26 to sit in the ******* rain at pitch level on a Tuesday night to watch us play Plymouth Argyle so it’s not actually that bad.

Where do they sit? It’s highly unlikely you’d get a seat next to them in the areas those prices are listed.

I detest high ticket prices, and £55 for the top ticket is about £35 too much for me (22/23 were more reasonable), but very much agree with this post.
The whole argument is distorted without acknowledging:
- that is the price for the most expensive seat, for the most expensive game category.
- very, very few of these seats exist anyway.
- even fewer (probably none) are together so this is not aimed at families - they couldn’t buy them if they wanted to.
- Far cheaper tickets exist in other parts of the ground.
- Those who want to go will buy the cheaper tickets, I imagine, those who never were going to go will complain the maximum priced ticket put them off.
Said this before but this is the effect of selling out the season tickets. There’s now very few tickets left so pricing has been set accordingly vs 22/23 when far fewer season tickets were sold. I don’t agree with it or like it and personally cannot understand why the club would risk the PR disaster for the sake of the few quid extra they gain from ticket sales, but this is a direct result of more people buying season tickets that are very competitively priced.

Variable and multi tiered ticket pricing strategies are associated with increased sales for sports events, particularly in areas with lower income or higher inequality of income.
You won't find me spending £55 on a match ticket anytime soon but the strategy does lead to more bums on seats.

Unfortunately, I would imagine the £55 tickets will go to neutrals/friends & family of players, etc rather than die hard fans. They’ll most likely buy up the cheaper seats.

Thanks.
Whilst not a fan of any expensive tickets, I do think that this is lost in a discussion that focuses solely on the top ticket price.
It’s still a few quid too expensive for me, but relatively excellent value for a couple of hours of entertainment at those prices.
I think the club could counter some of this more negative chat by better advertising these lower prices and signposting fans to them where they’re available - using social media, etc. Maybe it’s because they don’t need to anymore but I’m sure they used to do more advertising of tickets.

I've just taken a look at the Longside Upper centre for the home game against QPR which I assume is going to be the lowest category.
Adult is £41 but seniors and under-22s are £37. In the promotion season they were £32 and £24. Frightening increases for the concessions.

Never really understood all this malarkey.
I've sat/stood just about everywhere on the ground over the years...from the back corner of the longside to the nob's box on the BLS...and have to say I dont have any massive preferences...as long as I can see all the pitch I'm perfectley happy. JML as good as anywhere else for me.

A great shame that the club thinks it’s appropriate to charge £55 for any game of Championship football in Burnley, never mind the awful invention of the “categories”.

As a lifelong fan I’d be staying at home at these prices. In fact I’d prefer to not go and give some of the money to charity. I wonder what the pricing policy would be if heaven forbid we dropped down the leagues.

The thing about charging £55 for some seats - and it is actually quite a few seats in a fair number of fixtures - is that all of a sudden £26 sounds reasonable. For the worst seats in the house, with no shelter, to watch us play the least attractive opposition in the second division.
When it's £80 in the Bob Lord in a year or two, I can guarantee you there'll be posts about how 'yeah, but it's actually only £55 in the JML for the QPR game so it's pretty good value really'.

Exactly my thoughts, and paves the way for significant season ticket price increases. Especially if we are promoted. Still, some people fall over themselves to justify anything the club does.

Don't the club have kids season tickets for next to nowt? Adult season tickets for 300 quid or so payable in 10 payments of about 30 quid?
I'm honestly at a loss what some of the whingers on here expect? 10 quid and a free twix?

The ready I gave up my season ticket after paying approximately £240 a year as a over 70 season ticket holder
Went to about 2 games a season at home and about 2 away as I am in Lincoy without transportation
Got wet through at every home game
Knew the awful Pace would be hiking prices so stopped paying extortionate prices ( going up 50 % a year)
Will be able to watch pretty much all Burney games on TV live S well as lots more live games as well

I just think some people believe that £55 is way too expensive to watch a second tier match at Turf Moor, and that price rises of this nature are paving the way for significant annual price increases.

It will also be a great shame when in a few years time when Sky increase the number of games they show again (at horrible kick off times), and clubs like us have increased ticket prices again, that attendances will start to suffer hugely.

The football boom period is coming to an end, the Premier League tv deals have become flat with no real opportunity for further growth. The economy is in such a bad state, with no real sign of a way out, and a crash heading our way that many cannot even begin to comprehend.
Clubs can only keep chasing money for so long, sports revenue in Europe has now peaked and the next direction will naturally be downwards.

I don’t think you have a grasp of reality then. Because there’s not just 5 seats that are now valued at £55 per game. There may be 5 available seats valued at £55 per game but there are lots of season ticket holders who next season will no doubt be on the end of a significant price rise justified by the fact that they sit in a seat that is ‘worth’ £55 per game. I don’t think you’re naive enough to not realise this.

I think 55 quid for a premier league match is too expensive, never mind a championship game, regardless of that being for the best seats. I also don't think there being a 26 quid ticket available in a less attractive area of the ground, for a less attractive match, justifies the 55 quid ticket in any way at all.

Every company/supplier is jumping on the post covid price increase bandwagon now for everything usually blaming supply chain costs. Unfortunately we now have to live with it. This or don't ever leave the house.
As I'm a walk on then I will be picking my games and seats carefully next season. I may even have to invest in a decent rain jacket
