A community group are hoping to buy this land and rewild it for nature, wildlife and people.
I was up there recently and thought I would post this for anyone who might be interested.

Is there any info on there about how much land they aim to buy, the price to be paid, and who they seek to buy it from?
I'm interested in such projects as long as they're not filling the pockets of some or other profiteering landowner.
Genuine questions, I havent time to research this myself.

I am not involved in this other than having made a donation to what seems to be a good cause so can add nothing which is not on the website and which has a lot of information.
There is also an X account.

I wonder whether this is in response to the proposed Caldervale Windfarm?? Hopefully, as anything that scuppers that planned monstrosity would be welcome

Selling land at a local landmark like that seems a bit dodgy to me. Yes they might have the best intentions now, but who will end up owning the land in 50, 100, 200 years time? Shouldn’t be sold to anyone private as you never know what will happen down the line.

Yep...as I suspected....looks like a landowner looking to fill his pockets from a creative disposal of a hundred acres of otherwise very low grade scrub.
Good luck to him, but I'm out.

'Rewilding' is a term I'm feeling averse to. Without knowing what it is.
Sounds like someone, somewhere, is ultimately gonna charge you for it.

All a bit odd doug
If any place was already pretty wild then this place surely is??
If somebody wanted to "rewild" Burnley Wood or Duke Bar then I'd maybe see the point.

Duke Bar is wild enough.
