Some confusion with the announcement of the TV Picks yesterday but there will be six further games to those announced that will be available on Sky Sports +

Would have been quicker to just list the games not on TV

It's staggering - only nine of the first twenty-six not shown. It will kill the game.

As somebody who isn't always in the country so doesn't get a season ticket, I can say for sure I won't be paying for a single home ticket this season for 40 to 50 quid when the games going to be televised anyway. The only time I will go on is when I get given a free ticket.

I can't justify spending that money on a ticket in the Championship when I can watch the same game on tv

You have to be at the game it's the whole package you buy into when you go to a game that never can be beaten , well that's what i think .

It's what I think too. I missed Wolves last season and was able to watch it on Prime but it is a poor second to being there. Unfortunately, these sort of deals will turn more to TV watching sadly and that will be to the huge detriment to the game.

The simplest way to look at it is, if it’s a Saturday 3pm kick off then it’s not on TV live.

You've got to question why they are spending money to show all these matches as well. In reality, who is watching Burnley v Stoke (apart from fans of both clubs), surely there are hardly any neutrals who care about these games.

I thought it was a given that all midweek games were available?

As per article, these are part of the minimum of 26 games for each side

I don't see many walk ons paying 40-50 quid for a televised game, can't really blame them.

The release yesterday strangely ignored them and just included the games being shown on the Sky Sports Football channel.

I agree. But it isn't my absolute priority. If I couldn't see the game on tv maybe I'd pay that for a ticket but for me it's not worth the extra feeling you get at the game.
It's a shame but that's the way modern football has gone. I had a season ticket for 20 years until 2016 and since then I've been to fewer games each season because of the pricing and availability of streams

Thanks for posting this.
I live abroad but do manage to get to some games when I’m here. Luton A and Cardiff H being the next two.
I much prefer live games to watching on TV but living in Portugal I have little choice these days.
Just for clarity. I assume that anyone (I have a VPN in Portugal) can stream the allocated stream matches and pay for them? But the other games are on the Sky Footy channel and therefore included in your Sky package?
Portugal is not Sky friendly but you can buy other general packages that include it.

The games being streamed are through Sky but that will be UK only I think. There will be a streaming offer for non UK based supporters though I assume.

Does this mean that Clarets Player is now defunct?

I was expecting an increase in the number of games available but on the basis that you would have to pay for any game you wanted to watch, as previously on iFollow and I was certainly surprised about the number of games to be shown. Whether you like the idea or not probably depends on your personal circumstances but due to changes of date and time attending games will become less convenient. Of course streaming is not the same as the matchday experience but in the medium term it may well lead to lower attendances and a younger generation do not replace the older who increasingly take the easy option. Of course from a financial perspective how important are the fans?

I really don't know but I would expect some kind of streaming service for overseas supporters. I'm not sure anything has been said regards that.

In a different universe
maybe they could use some of the tv revenue for a game to subsidise the walk on tickets for that game

It's no problem at all. Apologies for the laughing emoji. I didn't mean to put that on my post.

There's quite a bit of info on the EFL site
