Now added are our results from the inaugural FL season of 1888/89 through to the end of 1899/1900. The remaining results will be added in two batches (1900/01 to 1914/15 and then 1919/20 to 1939/40)

Top work, many thanks.
Some fascinating opposition in those early years.....Old Westminsters, Small Heath, Darwen amongst others. It appears the attendances were very much estimated in the early years.

It was the 1920s before more accurate attendances were included - what I also need to do is get the FA Cup results in at some point from before 1888. The later seasons in the next batch will start to bring in some more recognisable names none more than the famous half back line.

The incredible "Halley, Boyle & Watson" era......FA Cup winners in 1913/14, off to fight for King and Country, then League Champions in 1920/21.

Worth a more detailed look at that 1920/21 season.
We start the season with three straight defeats, before embarking on a 30 game unbeaten run, a record which, I think, stands until this day......That's how good it was......20 goals from Bob Kelly and 25 from big Joe Anderson.
We've had some great sides represent Burnley over the years, particularly the '59/'60 team and Jimmy Mac, but the accomplishment of that '20/'21 side was probably second to none.

1891/92 season.
Did we really lose at home to Bolton in front of 50 thousand? ( 5th March )
