Tresor

Post by Clive 1960 » Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:18 am

just seen Scott Parkers interview and he said Tresor as health issues, does anyone know if it similar to Foster or just something else the guy is dealing with ...

I'm concerned that this guy will turn into a RVDS saga Mk 2 but with a much larger financial impact to the club.

If he’s ill I’m sorry to hear it, but very good Championship player? On what evidence?
His record in Belgium.

He's injured. The refusing to turn up to training rumour is nonsense.

In fairness so are around 5 others who have turned up to the training ground and went to Spain with everyone. Highly likely there’s more to it than just an injury. Next 3 weeks will be telling given reliable Belgian media linked him with a move away.

I thought he showed glimpses of a very good footballer and his past record would suggest the same. Clearly last season wasn’t good enough from any of them not just him but if we can get him fit healthy and played in the right way we will have a very good player on our hands at this level. Just make sure he stays away from the defence

Yep fair point. Maybe injured is under stating it. My point was that it's his health which is stopping him from joining preseason.

If he was AWOL SP his hardly likely to say so and publicly devalue him. Having said that, "health issues" isn't a great selling point.

Neither is his lack of ability. Let’s be honest here, we bought a dud.

He made 13 sub appearances and 3 starts in the league last year. Hardly conclusive data on whether he's a dud having just turned 25.

He has however had 23 assists/goals in 54 Eredivisie games. And 36 assists/goals in 64 games in the Belgian top division.

So 59 goal involvements in 118 games in Netherlands/Belgium's top leagues, but a total dud for a championship side?

Yep, clearly a good prospect who didn’t adapt to the premier league (or maybe Kompany’s system) quickly enough.

That doesn’t make him a dud at all. Hoping he recovers quickly and makes an impression on the Championship season.

I don’t think he was good at all, Infact quite the opposite but I also don’t think he was ever really given a proper chance. I don’t recall him ever starting consecutive games. Players generally need a run of games to build confidence, sharpness and adapt.

He's a very very good player, it just hasn't yet happened for him. If he can get back to his best he'll stand out in the Championship.

I was just going to make a similar point - there were a few players that would start one week and then not be anywhere near the matchday squad for 5-6 games. And when they did get a chance it was when the game was out of sight and they got 10-12 mins.

I’m not doubting his footballing ability. He wouldn’t have been player of the year in Belgium if he was pony.
My concerns are around his desire and heart in a relatively long Championship campaign. Hopefully he gets into the side and a prolonged run of games so we can see what he can do.
Another of Kompany’s very questionable signings though. We didn’t need another player in his position. Another iffy Mud Analytics lucrative signing in my view.

Already been mentioned - he might have resigned as a director but Plankton & Smallfish still listed as persons with significant control and he’s one of two directors of P&S.
