Has Parker won Weghorst over?

Don’t think I’ve ever seen Weghorst that happy at the club before.

A couple of scenes with Parker where he looks really happy, perhaps he wants one last Burnley swan song before moving on a free?

Him and foster could be a tasty two up top.

Maybe I'm getting carried away, but if we can keep this squad (Weghorst included) we surely have everything we need to get promoted.

Il go one further and say I think we will even beat our points tally of the last time

Early days but **** me that was brilliant 😁.

Weggy looked up for it when he came on as did McNally etc etc

One thing that's probably worth mentioning. He didn't want to play in the champ because there was a world cup coming up and he'd been told he wouldn't be selected if he stayed.

This time there's no international tournament so he may be thinking that staying and getting promoted would be his best chance of being back in the Premier league next season.

The flaw in the plan is Foster. I don't see how Weghorst plays unless we went two up front. In which case he may have to go. No point having him sat on the bench really.

I see Weghorst playing behind Foster like he did at United at times.

If SP does manage to convince Weghorst to stay, which would be no mean feat (although there is no major international tournament in 2025), then our attacking options are nothing short of amazing.

Up top from Foster, Weghorst, Houtondji, JayRod, (Amdouni??)
Supplied by from Odobert, Koleosho, Zaroury, Benson, JBG, (Vitinho)

All the above have goals in them.
This could be an exciting season.

Odobert or Koleosho on the right? That's the only way we could fit them all in really

With no international competition in the summer, maybe he’s joined the Scotty Parker revolution?

I still find it painful to watch him play.

I still think he will go, especially with him being out of contract next season, but I would love him to stay now that he looks like a man who wants to be here.

I've had it on very good authority that Weghorst has been seen down lanes of Amsterdam red light that will do a trick for a cardigan fetish

Apart from Traff and the CBs, few of our squad are going to play 46 games this season.
It's a long gruelling effort, if we want players to stay fit, avoid injury, then mixing it up is the best way. It would also align with SP saying we'll choose a team and tactics based on the opposition. It would also possibly keep our inflated squad on board.
The biggest worry after last night, is unused players building resentment for not getting on the pitch.
Wout, if he stays, could be massive for us this season. I hope he stays but considering the shite he's had to take from sections of our fans SP will have worked a miracle if he's convinced him not to go.
