Good evening all,
I'm very sorry to have to report that following the passing of Sue Bolton in March 2024, her husband Allen Bolton also recently passed away on Saturday 3rd August 2024 in the Royal Infirmary in Dumfries after a long illness.
From a young age, Allen was a Burnley fan all of his life as well as an avid fan of all football in all countries at and every level.
Formerly a season ticket holder in both the Bob Lord and latterly the James Hargreaves stand, Allen worked as a typographer and latterly a graphic designer. There are many who will have traveled to games with Allen sharing lifts and he was an active member of Colne Clarets as well as having a keen interest in both wildlife and bird photography and gardening.
His extensive collection of Burnley memorabilia and football programmes over the years was an unrivaled passion lasting over 65 years.
The funeral and service for the thanksgiving of Allen's life is arranged for next Friday, 23rd August 2024 at Noon at Roucan Loch Crematorium in Dumfries. All are welcome and if so desired, donations to Prostate Cancer UK may be given at the service.
My thoughts are with Burnley and other football fans who had the pleasure to know Allen and the rest of his family and friends.
It would have given Allen immense pleasure to see an outstanding Burnley team win 4-1 tonight at Luton Town.
