Would love Harrogate away. Twenty minute drive from my house.
I don’t think we’ve ever played them either, so one to tick off.

Drawing Blackburn in an early league cup tie would be crap and slightly devalue the Derby so I hope we avoid that. Otherwise not fussed

From the north and south groups we have 50 teams to go into round Three and I can’t see enough Premier Teams left to join to make it 64 teams . Can someone explain please

I've seen us play at Harrogate.
Pre-season friendly, with a young Glen Little playing really well. We won 7-1, from memory. (I'm fairly sure it was Harrogate Town, not Harrogate Railway.)

Hull City away for me, if for no other reason it was the venue for one of the best League Cup away games I've seen us involved in.......It was exactly 50 years ago, the '74/'75 season and with just a few minutes remaining we were a goal behind.
Then a superb equaliser from Leighton James followed by the winner from Billy Ingham. Great side that was with Waldo and Thomson at the back and Hankin and Fletcher as strikers.
I bet DAVETHEVICAR was there !!

In the unlikely event that the Northern Section produces a tie between no.3 and no.6, I presume our new leader has done sufficient research to know that putting out a team full of 2nd choice Reserves is not an acceptable decision ..

Handy that we have only 5 PL teams in the North and 8 in the South in round two.
I always prefer a good cup run rather than turfed out by an away game vs a PL team who, lets be honest, we are all fed up with after last season.

Barrow or Middlesbrough would add a ground for me at less than a Burnley home journey! Mind you, I might have trouble making the date.

I was there too. It was Harrogate Town. August 1997 but it was 7-0. Andy Cooke got 5.

Is the tie played in the midweek of 26th August? If so and we draw Blackburn could be playing them twice in 4 days.

I missed that friendly although I do have the programme. I have it at 7-0 with five for Andy Cooke and one each for Glen Little and Paul Weller.

12 Harrogate
20 Shrewsbury
22 Tranmere
23 Walsall
Any of the above at home will do.

With a big squad it would have been nice to get a few ‘easier’ fixtures really. Oh well, if we go out at least we can ‘focus on the league’ (we’d only have drawn City at the Etihad in the next round anyway).

Bloody Wolves.

Latest in a long line of crap cup draws, whilst the

turds, get the Lashers at home, and Knobbers get Harrogate!!
Why is it we get crap draws?

They’re plucking balls from a bowl, BigF. What did they do that was not to your liking?

Ugh....my positive spin is we'll get to see how we get on against a decent team. Slightly intriguing.

Decent Premier League team
Nice to see what a pragmatic manager can achieve
We’ve a a squad to cope with putting a strong team out

It’s commonly known as, “the luck of the draw”.

Think its a great draw and an early chance to see how Scotty Parker's Burnley team stands up against a Premier League reserve team
