Clarets Player Commentary
Just watched the highlights video on YouTube from today’s game and the first three goals had Phil Bird and a co comm on (not sure who). Do people actually listen to clarets player for commentary these days? It seems to get more painful as the years go by. I don’t know how people can go a full 90 listening to that. Nothing personal against Phil B etc.

Women’s team manager with him today.
Re: Clarets Player Commentary
I like him. He's Burnley. Beats the tripe out of those 'Pros' who give you "It's not the start they would have wanted" (when two down after five minutes) or "XXX is the happier of the two managers".

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
I eventually got the official stream on as i'm abroad at the min, she talked over Birdy at times certainly around the goals and that isn't the role of a summariser.
Fair play to her though, she made several plugs for supporting BFC ladies, and personally I think that is important. They seem to be doing really well at the minute. Good luck Ladies.

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
I was at home yesterday and was struggling to find the match on radio lancs - was it even on?
Them down the road had both FM and DAB frequencies, with the others covering Preston (I think) and one other, but I couldn’t seem to find Burnley’s commentary, unless I was being impatient.
From some of the comments on here with Clarets+ cutting off seemingly quite common, I’m loath to sign up for it.

Yep, they're still running it like the old Radio Blackburn.ColneMonkey wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 8:12 amI was at home yesterday and was struggling to find the match on radio lancs - was it even on?

It use to be that they used the FM frequency between us and Rovers for the team that was playing awayColneMonkey wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 8:12 amI was at home yesterday and was struggling to find the match on radio lancs - was it even on?

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
Phil Bird was on my Burnley stream yesterday, but I had to turn over to the Cardiff comms with Dean Saunders on I think. He was much more balanced.
Re: Clarets Player Commentary
I couldn't sit through 10 minutes of Phil Bird, never mind the full 90.

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
I was watching the Clarets+ stream here downunder. The commentary kept dropping out. Plus there was a lot of buffering.
The most annoying thing, the commentary was about 1 or 2 seconds ahead of the picture.

Noticed that on the you tube link to the club highlights there was no commentary on the last 2 goalsRammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 9:48 amI was watching the Clarets+ stream here downunder. The commentary kept dropping out. Plus there was a lot of buffering.

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
I'm not saying Clarets Player is a bit too biased but a Burnley centre half could kidnap the opposition's striker and Clarets Player would say it's a harsh yellow.

Seems strange that ... every schoolboy knows light travels faster than sound so vision should be ahead of commentaryRammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 9:48 amI was watching the Clarets+ stream here downunder. The commentary kept dropping out. Plus there was a lot of buffering.

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
Phil Bird knows the difference between 'Cardiff are in all grey" and 'Cardiff are all in grey". He is well-aware that goalkeepers have to be in a different colour.

Re: Clarets Player Commentary
Yes exactly. I’m one of those schoolboys. Not sure why the sound was ahead, but it was.
