One thing I will say - Leeds are not as good as they were last season.

I don’t agree with this tbh. Aaronsen who just scored cost £25m and he wasn’t there last season. They’ve just paid £10m for a Summerville replacement. Joseph up front is better than Piroe and Bamford. Obv Rutter is a loss but they still look v strong to me.

They don’t look too clever against the wit woos. Their defence has been sliced open several times.

How much you’ve paid for players and how good you are isn’t mutually exclusive.

That's cool. It's from what I've seen of them this season so down to opinions.

I find a lot of what you have just said strange.

Joseph better than Piroe and Bamford? Under what possible metric. He’s started about 13 games in his career and contributed next to nothing in them games.

Aaronsen is there but ultimately he’s either the same or lower ability than Rutter.

Summerville got 30 goal contributions in the league last season. There replacement looks great but I would be amazed if he replicates that return.

They haven’t replaced Kamara and Gray both of which were massive for them last season.

They bought Bogle at right back where Gray played and signed Rothwell to replace Kamara. Joseph looks a better player than Piroe and Bamford which is why he’s starting ahead of both. Time will tell but their fans rate him highly. But it’s pretty decent attacking depth regardless.

I don't think we've anything to fear from either team, Wednesday are poor and Leeds are a shadow of the team they have been the last couple of seasons. I expect both managers to be gone by Xmas.

Better movement. Offers more. Reckon he’ll be up there in Champ top scorers this season.

A lot can change in the next week but Leeds squad is more play-off quality than top two but their amazing support probably gets then an extra 10 pts this season which could make them a threat

Wednesday look poor though. They are a mess at the back when they try to pass and, at the minute, not a lot of punch going forward.

That left winger for Wednesday is doing my head in. Musaba or whatever his name is, seems to have Bogle on toast then turns into trouble every time and no final ball.

We're going to have to be careful to deny Leeds space in behind when we go there in a few weeks. They have real pace in the forward positions and the quality to find the passes.

The last few days, have surely told us, that this is no time to judge any team, be that Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, or ourselves.

We still have big squad numbers, but we are steadily losing many of the players that we might have looked at as difference makers.

I’m not against the buy low, try to sell high model (easier said than done and you need to maintain a some key players) but I do worry that we’re losing sight of the importance of having a core of players that we can all get behind.

Pace may like football, he may love Burnley…. I’m far from convinced though that he truly gets either.

He strikes me as someone who might have his heart in the right place, an astute business man, but that’s where my admiration stops. Ultimately, he’s not a football man, he’s a pretender who doesn’t understand the importance of a united squad, of developing a cohesive unit.

Every player that we have is a number, someone that we might make a fast buck on. We have a well intentioned, albeit naive, kid managing the sweet shop.

Hopefully I’m being overly pessimistic, I just see our club on a knife edge and I really worry about the consequences.

Leeds doing what we have done to Luton and Cardiff. Let them press high and hit them with pace on the break. I don't think teams in this league have the players to press high against the better teams. Better than last time when they did the low block against us all the time.

I fully expect Leeds to make a few quality additions before the window closes and, if they do, they could easily win the Championship in a canter.

I agree with a lot of that. I'm also not fully convinced he knows how much promotion is worth - even though he's experienced it.

I take some comfort from our 2 big wins so far, both coming the day after loads on here were knocking our chances. Like tonight.

Leeds look pretty good, but Wednesday look rubbish and ponderous. There is a chasm between the divisions.

Really this division is there to take this season, certainly top two, we just need to not get any weaker after DOS, Wout and AAD leave. I see ALK as pro risk so have no doubts they will push the envelope as much as the balance sheet and FFP allows.

Sheff Weds finished 5th from bottom last season. They are one of the worst sides in the division.

Been having a look at this Aaronson lad. Hardly any goals, used one of those Wout-clauses in his contract last season but seemingly won’t this time. Bought him for £25m and now worth half that. In short, I would rather we had Brownhill than him.

I would also far rather we buy low and sell high than the above.

Well, I was impressed with Leeds overall despite the weak opposition which had completely destroyed an even worse Plymouth. I especially enjoyed that ten minute spell before half-time where they passed the ball around all over the pitch and Wednesday could hardly touch them. They have some tidy players and energetic ones too. Whilst Gnonto is a pain in the butt he has a positive effect on the team.
