Trafford 4 - just brings a nervousness to the back line
Roberts 5
Pires - 3 woeful performance
Esteve - 6
CJER - 6 steady debut
Brownhill - 5 looked lost
Massengo - 6 should have stayed on
Vitinho 4 - he isn't good enough on the wing and he's now out only fit 'winger'
Hountondji - 4 looked way off it
Jay Rod - 3 passenger, I've seen quicker tortoises
Foster 4 - ineffective again, starting to wonder what he actually brings to the side

All round awful performance with a mid table lineup, what the hell is going on.

When was the last time we looked so poor in this division? Hull away on Boxing Day almost 10 years ago?

Trafford
7
- I think he did OK. His distribution is still weak, but as I've said after Luton, I think he improved a lot in the box.

Pires 4 - Very poor. Couldn't do the basics right.

Esteve 7
MOTM - Good game.

Roberts 5 - They targeted him for a reason in the first half. Looked slightly steadier later, but still way off.

Brownhill 5 - He becomes a ghost every time he needs to step up and become a leader.

Massengo 5 - Tried but not good enough.

Vitinho 4 - Awful. Not surprising, though. He's always been hot and cold. Just because he started well, doesn't mean he can be as dangerous on regular basis.

Hountoundji 3 - The worst one for me. The fact he went off, and CB replaced him, tells you all you need to know.

Jay 4 - Way past it.

Foster 4 - Don't think he won a single duel.

-----
Amdouni 5 - Didn't do much.

Parker 3
- The board did him dirty, but surely this team is better than 4 shots in 90 minutes. I was really struggling to see what was our gameplan today.

From tv (I normally post on Sundays but no need after that performance.
Trafford 6 he’s a future England keeper, isn’t he?
Roberts 4 couldn’t pass to a teammate
Egan Riley 7 I actually thought he played quite well for his first appearance
Esteve 6 no one to pass to when he got the ball
Pires 3 erratically poor
Vitinho 4 did he want to be there?
Brownhill 4 nothing at all
Massengo 4 sideways, sideways
Jayrod 3 has he found his natural position at last
Foster 5 ran about a bit
Houtondji 3 is he our first million pound player
Amdouni 6 he actually looked like a footballer at times

The team and subs that started at Luton would have won that game comfortably. This is what happens when you have one disastrous summer window followed by a second one. That was shocking.

Trafford - 6 - would have been less if he'd been beat from the half-way line again.

Roberts - 4 - some truly awful distribution
Pires - 4 - clumsy and should be absolutely nowhere near set-piece
Esteve - 6
CJER - 6 - did ok but he would not be my 1st choice out of the 10 centre-halves we currently own

Brownhill - 4 - poor as a player. Even poorer as a captain.
Massango - 5
Vitinho - 4 - when he's bad he doesn't do half measures. A world away from the first two games - does he even want to be here?
Hountondji - 3 - doesn't look remotely ready for the 1st team.

Foster - 4 - precious little service
Jay-Rod - 3. Should not be starting.

A interesting duel between whether we had a bigger $hitshow on or off the field.

On the field I had no clue what formation we were playing. I don't think half the team did either. The substitutions served only to confuse further (if that was possible) and we end up with one midfielder and an emergency centre-half up front.

How we've arrived here today after one week is almost surreal.

Trafford 6 Decent performance, his play acting really cringe.
Roberts 5 You can see why we loaned him to Leeds last season.
Egan-Riley 6 Unlucky for the booking, played well, look like he cared and cut a frustrated figure when nobody was showing the ball.
Esteve 6 Steady
Pires 4 Gave the ball away to often, positioning suspect
Brownhill 4 Anonymous chased shadows for most of the afternoon and his distribution was poor.
Massengo 6 Unlucky to be hooked, played well, kept the ball, just didn’t move it quick enough.
Vitinho 4 All over the place, tracking back poor, positioning poor, easily pushed off the ball.

Jay 4)
Hountondji 4)
Foster 4)

The front three were abysmal, lack of movement, in fact all three hid in my opinion. Hardly showed for the ball and were nowhere near for second balls

Amdouni 7 - only one who looked like a proper footballer.

Parker - will reserve judgement especially with whatappears to be going on in this window

The most one sided 1-0 ever. The bench was a throwback to the Dyche era. Struggling to remember such a poor performance at this level.

Trafford 5 looked like he wanted to be subbed twice !
Roberts 5 got skinned
Esteve 6
CJER 6 better than I expected
Pires 3 beyond bad
Vitinho 3 didn’t look like he wanted to be there
Brownhill 4 looked lost and bemused
Massengo 5 grew into the game but not ready yet
Hountondji 3 oh dear
Foster 4 looked dejected
J Rod 4 did his best but off the pace

What a disgraceful shambles. No doubt injuries and illness will be the excuse. Nothing to do with selling our best players

Trafford 5 was he told to slow it down and play it out like that ? it didn’t happen last week ?

Roberts 5 poor for one of the senior players

Egan Riley 8 good solid performance, only weakness was the longer pass under pressure, no out balls no movement in front of him

Esteve 8 same as Egan Riley , would have been 4.0 if the CH had not been as solid.

Pires 5 not solid and little going forward, although some good close passing at times

Massango 8 You would have thought it was him with the 200 appearances for Burnley not Brownhill, was everything Brownhill wasn't

Brownhill 3 a disgrace of a performance , a midfielder that struggles to pass and control the ball, what’s the point?

Vitiniho 3 didn’t look interested , from his best to his worst performances for us. Looked like he didn’t want to be there or take any risks getting injured.

Rodrigues 5 tried but out of position and not able to influence the game

Foster 5 poor control , but why was he always so isolated with nobody able to pick up the second ball around him.

Houndtouji 5 missed the best chance but unfair to judge him on today

Trafford 7
Roberts 4
Esteve 7
Egan Riley 5
Pires 3 - decent game at Luton, thought he’s been awful the last two

Brownhill 4
Massengo 3

Hountondji 3 scary how we spent £4m on this fella to replace the near £40m in sales of Anass and Wilson. Complete horse shite

Vitinho 3 stinking attitude but we all know he’s not a winger at this level

Rodriguez 3 how has this man got a new contract? People on here will still defend him though, Iv never seen a slower player. So far over the hill it’s quite sad to watch.

Foster 3 another awful showing, constantly giving away stupid fouls. Beyond lazy too, doesn’t even move half the time. Zero technical ability. A big expensive sack.

Amdouni 8 the only one who showed any movement and a willingness to show for the ball and make things happen. No wonder he wants to leave.

I have seen enough of some of these players, after today I’ll happily sell Vitinho shocking attitude. I pray Amdouni stays and Foster goes but that won’t happen. Jay needs putting out of his misery and have we been victims of some kind of fraud with this Hountondji chap because he’s no footballer.

I've stuck up for ALK, mainly because I hate the constant pessimism which does no one any good, but I feel the current instability around the club did not do anyone any favours today.

I didn't see the game but it seems we went to a good team, who have won twice with a patched hour team, most of whom put in 3 or 4 out of 10 performances and only lost 0-1.

That's got to be pretty positive hasn't it?

Trafford 5 - Surely only playing to put him in the shop window? Didn't do a lot worng today, but we still look vulnerable when he is playing from the back.
Pires - 5 - Could see his frustration with Houtondji in front of his. He got zero support and never had an outball. Was absolutely hung out to dry today.
Esteve - 6 - Just steady as always, but didn't look half as assured as when alongside O'Shea.
CJER - 5- did okay defensively, but is sooooo slow on the ball and turns like a tanker. Puts us under pressure when there is a high press.
Brownhill - 5- A complete opposite to last week, but to be fair had an awful lot to do as he got no support from the people ahead of him.
Massengo - 6 - Didn't actually do too badly once he grew into the game, but is going to take time to get upto speed.
Vitinho 4 - The first time I have seen his body language like that. My son says there was a rumour he didn't want to play today because he wants to leave and seeing how he was on the pitch today makes me believe there could be some truth in that. Really disappointed with him.
Hountondji - 3 What was he even doing? When he tracked back he just knocked them over and he made absolutely no runs for out balls etc. had zero impact on the game yet stayed on for 88 minutes. Madness.
Jay Rod 5 - He did try, but had no impact really. Seeing him in such a deep role was just another bonkers decision.
Foster 4 - I really want him to come good, but he is giving us hardly anything game after game. This is the Championshiop, I really thought he would come out of the traps flying. I think we badly need an actually need a striker, even if just to take the pressure off him.

With Mcnally, with so much Championship experience, Amdouni with his ability and Hldaky all out of the starting line-up, some of this has to fall on Parker. That starting 11 was just madness. I hope it was just him trying to make a point to the board, otherwise ..... doesn't bare thinking about.

What the hell was that. Teams can have a slow start to games but they need leaders in the team who can get them going. There wasn’t a single one on that pitch today. Brownhill and Rodriguez are good lads but have never been leaders, and frankly Jay should be nowhere near starting.
Sunderland aren’t even good but just sussed us out and knew what to do. I hope the mormons take note of the point Parker was obviously making and that our recruiting data nerds look through cold stats / sell on potential to bring in a few men this week.

From TV.

I thought Parker was the only sensible appointment available to the board but no idea what he was trying to do today.

His problem is I don't think Brownhill plays that well in in midfield two. Of course, he did last week but generally speaking I'm not convinced.

Messengo is tidy but he needs Cullen next to him pushing Brownhill forward. Overall, I'm not convinced with a 4-4-2 presuming Jay Rod was intended to play as a number 10.

The truth is without Odobert, Koleosho and to a lesser extent Amdouni this team has no pace, guile or threat. Sadly, without them the team is not good enough...! Cullen will improve things but overall the squad is now too one paced without the ability to break lines or create problems.

Another week left in the transfer market so let's see what happens

Trafford 6 - Did ok but doesn't inspire confidence
Pires 5 -Challenging day for him
Esteve 6 - Steady away
Egan Riley 6 - Did ok
Roberts 5 - Disappointing from a senior player
Brownhill 5 - See above
Massengo - 6 Looks a tidy player but I don't think he's experienced enough in a centre midfield 2 with Brownhill
Vitinho 5 - Struggled to see where he was playing or even if he was playing today
Hountondji 5 - Not great
Jay Rod 5 - I think he has a role as an impact players in the last 15 unless we are short of players.
Foster 5 - I think he needs a big man up front with him. A Vokes or Woods as I said against Luton I don't think his game is leading the line.

Trafford 6- did nothing really wrong or right

Roberts 4 - ripped to shreds 1v1 and was sloppy all day in the ball

Pires 4 - rippped to shreds on the inside got his body in the wrong position and a first touch like Fred west today

Egan-Riley 6 looked to play out but with little movement struggled apart from side to side - battled ok

Esteve 6 defensively did ok played safe balls but struggled to pick anybody out central as they covered our players well and we were like statues.

Massango 5 best and tidy struggled to get away from his marker to be effective battled hard a little wasteful

Brownhill 4 is he ill struggled to keep up with play has little technical ability or movement deep to receive and turn

Hountondji 5 a some nice movement out to in but struggled to get involved well marshalled missed out only/best chance

Vitinho- 4. Poor touch very heavy makes his 2nd a tackle offered little struggles 1v1

JRod 4 played as a wide 8 for most of the game looked to get in the ball and offer something but play breaks down on the press with him - great servant but not for me

Foster 4 technical ability is well “raw” but not helped when he did bung it up with no player within 20 yards !! Runs faint and hints for the ball

Amdouni 5 showed good technical ability without really doing anything.

Sunderland pressed us better, looked hungrier and had fight they stopped us playing through Marshall’s central areas well and exposed our full backs often 1v1 Robert’s was targeted and for me Patrick Robert’s looked the best player on the pitch by a long mile

Trafford 7 Made some decent saves and kept the score down although he gives me palpitations with the ball at his feet
Roberts 5 didn't look like our most experienced defender, but didn't get a lot of help from Vitinho
Egan-Riley 6 minus one for booking for trapping off, thought he didw ell for his first start
Esteve 6 along with CJER and Trafford kept us in the game
Pires 4 looks very lightweight and was roasted by Roberts, thankfully Sunderland could not capitalise more fully on their dominance down the flanks
Massengo 5 tidy but ineffective offensively
Brownhill 4 - aptly at the SoL, he's no Kevin Ball
Vitinho 4 plus one for breaking free and putting in the great cross to create our chance of the game, otherwise pathetic
Jay 3 another minus one for stupid booking, completely ineffective offensively
Hountondji 3 - not a winger and judging from his finishing from our only chance not a striker either. Ball planted on your head four yards out is a striker's dream come true.
Foster 3 got booked for the second week in a row for trapping off AFTER the ref has given US a free kick, maybe he has the No 17 shirt because that is his IQ. Seems to constantly give away silly fouls and run into trouble.

Subs Amdouni 6 looked quite lively but really did not seriously affect the outcome of the game.

Sambo did not look anything special.
McNally playing him up front sent me down the paisley corridors of time to Kevin Long at Crystal Palace

I was perhaps being a bit over the top during the game saying its the worst I've ever seen us play. But after reflection, I still don't think it's far off. Whether it was down to illness or morale, the basics of running hard, being first to the ball, showing for team mates withoyt the ball etc - they were woefully lacking. And that's before you get to formation and tactics which I'm still baffled by now.

Trafford - 6 One good save, didn't do much wrong
Roberts - 4 Poor with and without the ball
Egan Riley - 6 Thought criticism of him was a bit unfair. After a shaky start he did ok.
Esteve - 6 Solid as per
Pires - 4 His positioning and decision making was pretty appalling. He's got to get used to a press.
Brownhill - 3 He looked ill, so lacking in energy.
Massengo - 5 Moments where he was tidy, but he can be much better. A lot of passes were pointless, sideways balls to players in worse positions than he was
Houtandji - 3 Felt sorry for him. Terrible debut bit mitigating circumstances
Rodriguez - 3 Just shouldn't be in the team with Amdouni on the bench. Love him, but he doesn't belong in a promotion chasing side at this stage of his career
Foster - 4 a few nice turns and thought the ref was harsh on him today, but he has to do the simple things better. Keep. The. Ball.

Amdouni - 7 Mom Genuinely looked like the only player with an ounce of quality today. Frightening. Absolutely should have started the game.

And I genuinely hope all of the travelling fans who were slagging off Kompany enjoyed today. This is what they wanted.
VK had the luxury of spending £100 million not having it pulled from beneath him.
