Scott Parker

I cannot imagine Parker was ever sold this scenario when interviewing?

We had an absolute embarrassment of riches opening the season. Of course we expected to lose a few players, no problems with Wilson & Sander going (our two best last season), factor in the fee for VK, Muric and some of the fringe players and we're still looking strong.

Fast forward to 14:00 today and we're putting out that team? Wow... Good players do not grow on trees and it takes time to get a cohesive team together. We were just starting to find our rhythm, the feel-good factor was back and fans of other teams worried about the prospect of playing us.

Yet the Board have gone and ripped it all up once again before one of the most important games of our season.

Genuinely feel for Scott Parker because this is absolute b0llocks.

Feel the same. I find it unlikely that he thought he would be in a position, in the third game of the season, where he would be bringing on Luke McNally for a forward to try and snatch an equaliser.

I have a feeling Parker was fully aware this would happen and that’s why in all his interviews he’s tried to play done certain things and talk about bumps in the road

I do feel for him today having to put that team out but with all the defenders and lack of wingers, maybe going to a back 3 would of been a better idea today

He may have been forewarned about what could happen, hence him warning us there would be 'bumps in the road'.

Considering he wasn’t happy about Bournemouth’s perceived lack of investment, I think he’ll be pretty ****** off tonight.

17 sleeping policemen inside 100 yards is excessive.

If there's a 'bump in the road' against Rovers, then Pace is going to get slaughtered.

We have to wait a week to see what we have left. Some players must have been injured but there are several absentees who won't be playing for us this season.

I get that but I feel that this isn't just a "bump in the road", it's more akin to showing up to Le Mans with a flat tyre and no spare.

I can't really see why he'd have been unaware. I would presume there was broad agreement and awareness about which players may leave at what price. I also assume there will be signings in the coming week to at least address the shallowness of the squad at certain positions.

It's a bit of a perfect storm today, to be without Cullen and Koleosho at the exact moment we've lost the only replacements we had.

The parallels to the Watford game 2 years ago are pretty astonishing, even down to the detail of McNally coming on up front in that game too. Zaroury, Beyer and Tella all came into the team after that so fingers crossed for something similar.

That was like a pub team Sunday standard. Lads ringing up saying they are too rough to play so you ask lads from
A shitter team to make up numbers.

Depends how late in the week Parker know what squad for today he was going to have but for me a team today of

Trafford

Humphreys’s Egan Riley Esteve

Vitinho brownhill Massengo pires
Amdouni Jay foster

Would of been a better idea

I hope you’re right, but can’t help thinking that Pace and Co. have literally wet their pants at the thought of selling off the family silver to get themselves out of the financial **** they’ve created.

I did have a similar thought, re the similarities to the Watford game but christ, why make it difficult for ourselves?

Signed Houtoundji for 4 mill and committed to buy Humphries for 12, Worral probably for a few mill... Why not just keep Anass and O'Shea?

If you're in the **** - get promoted. You earn more than selling off your best players.

Unless your plan is to sell up and leave.

Hountondji is a striker in fairness and it was nearer 3m.

I posted earlier in the week that Scott Parker probably had no idea of what his team would be for the Sunderland game and got pelters for it on here.

Problem is the truth is often painful for people to accept.

If next week we have Worrall, Cullen, Amdouni & Koleosho in for Egan-Riley, Massengo, Jay-Rod, and Hountondji its a completely different story. Plus we are likely to have got first team ready replacements for Berge and Odobert to challenge for a starting spot.

Think we need a new striker and if Amdouni goes we need to replace him but assuming a good midfielder and a winger or maybe two will be coming in think we have a well strong enough squad.
