On the brink of what?
Players come and go every year
Sometimes in large numbers
We had our hand forced 2 summers ago, when Dyche had gone and the squad needed a huge overhaul
We’re seeing the fruits of our transfer policy this summer, with several of our players going for very good money
This allows us to replace them and give others here a chance
Get used to it
Or not

There are elements that I don’t like. The ownership, the precarious position that our club appears to be in, the turnover of players (not against that as a model per se), the excessive price increases across most areas (tickets, food / drink, club shop) at a time when some of our fans will be struggling financially, the apparent disregard for fans that we’ve seen on a number of occasions.
All that aside though, I don’t feel disconnected from the club itself. When these shysters have had their pound of flesh, I’ll still be here, wherever we may be.

Regarding prices, everyone is struggling, but I haven't seen any of the big supermarkets not increase their prices, why should a football club be any different?

And this is the whole point, isn't it.
I've been a supporter of our club, and therefore emotionally involved, for just short of sixty years. I regard it as MY club, not Alan Pace's ; he's only been here five minutes. I don't like what's going on at the moment, but I'll still be there.
Incidentally, unless we have a miraculous three days in the transfer market, I feel it's inevitable that Alan Pace is going to get some serious stick on Saturday. It's important for us to show that our disapproval is NOT directed at Scott Parker, and I think we should all give him a rousing reception when he walks across the pitch to the dugout before the match.

Another negative thread or not, clearly a lot of people are feeling that way.
This needs addressing. That Ball chaps idea of how to do it isn't really the way to go.

these players were shipping out got us relagated, i dont get all the negativity, apart from berger and odabergh the rest can leave for me ,
twine ..never made it
oshea...ok but certainly not class....DOUBLED MONEY
al dakill.....good riddance , nowhere near good enough and a lot better at club...TREBLED MONEY
muric...accident waiting to happen....DOUBLED MONEY
zarouray...great for 6 months **** since World Cup...TREBLED MONEY
jbg..........deserves his chance for big bucks , resigned for free....1.5m profit
churlinov....never played
costello.....no chance of playing 4 us
obafemi....never fit and done nothing
peacock barrel...better at club already
bastien........shite
berge....good player but 25m !!!........DOUBLED MONEY
odeberg good talent but 30m !!.........DOUBLED MONEY
weghorst ..needs to leave but could be class in this league
koleesho...looks a raw talent but we paid 2million and could get 25m...no brainer
trafford....nowhere near class at this young age , if we can get money back its a great deal
I THINK WE HAVE TO SIT BACK AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS THIS WEEK , ITS NOT IDEAL WITH ANOTHER HUGE TURNOVER OF PLAYERS BUT THESE LOT GOT US RELAGATED AND DESPITE PEOPLE SAYING COMPANY WASTED 100MILLION A LOT OF HIS SIGNINGS WILL MAKE US A SMALL FORTUNE ,,
LETS GIVE CLUB A CHANCE AND SEE WERE WE ARE NEXT WEEK , IM SURE THE OWNERS WANT WHATS BEST FOR CLUB AND WILL BACK OUR MANAGER AGAIN LIKE THEY DID WITH KOMPANY , AND WE ALSO MADE 12M ON HIM AS WELL!!!

I wish i felt disconnected as opposed to the array of feelings i feel at the moment. This week is an almost perfect storm. Players leaving, rumours of more, no communication from the club apart from a pathetic tweet from that odious man, a lack of incomings, captain and manager clearly downbeat in interviews and those lot at home (looking fairly cohesive at the moment) on Saturday

There’s a reason no one has a connection with the players it’s because of the mass turnover for the third season in a row.

I’m not against occasional reasonable increases. I certainly don’t forget the many years we had without season ticket rises.
I’m just not sure that some of the increases seen are reasonable. How much is a pint of shitty lager or bitter, a meat pie, on the concourses now?

"Supermarkets are price gouging so everyone else should".
Maybe the problem is the hikes in general are too much, not "well if its good for them its good for us" price hiking?

Not a fan of them particularly, but who else was there?
It's just I don't get what being connected means
I've paid my money for nearly 60 years to watch the team I support, I go to games, and go home, who should I be connected to? I never felt connected to bob lord, Barry kilby or anyone else at the club

Hikes in general are too much.... But football clubs have to pay those prices when purchasing the goods they sell, that has to be passed on.

Haven't a clue, they don't get my custom

I’m more disconnected from the beer and pie prices than the investing in young talent and selling on for a profit that we are all aware of and were clearly informed of the model.
The problem will be if that money is not reinvested …. Which I’m sure it will be
It’s not ideal but not surprised
Most transfers happen at the back end

No it's still the same club playing at the same ground in the same colours.
I think the owners are doing a fantastic job securing the future of the club.
But then again I don't need to have the club as a critical part of my, life I have family, a job, and a great matchday experience.
If you don't like the show, change the channel, but please stop the negative posts or get some counselling about your unhealthy relationship with the club.
You and the rest of us are just insignificant data points on a spreadsheet, all the club needs from us is to sell overpriced food, drink, and shirts.

We sold a central defender today, I said to my old mates at Walking Football, I remember years of having just 2 Central Defenders plus Kevin Long as back up now we have a Swede and a German plus a young lad as back up. I added and then one January window we all said sign a central midfielder as we only have Marney and Jones (I think it was Jones) and as soon as the window shut Marney was injured, so Arfield moved inside. At the start of this transfer window we had way over 40 players and loads of them were worth a bob or two if we sold them.........I feel totally connected and am pleased I have my season ticket for another season of reality not fantasy.

First summer - exodus of players for free or cheap
Numerous people had spent the previous season or two complaining the age of the squad was too high
So the club did a huge overhaul
It was needed then
To sit and complain about it is just moronic
Last summer, they tried to improve the quality of the squad and shift on those they didn’t think would make it
Perfectly normal
This time round, we’ve got players who want to stay in the PL
We’ve got others who quite possibly aren’t viewed as good enough and are being moved on
Both things are normal
Our business model is buy low, develop and sell higher
We can’t have players stagnating here, so they’ll be moved on
It’s business, it’s about generating money via a sensible transfer policy, refreshing the squad and keeping us competitive
The long term aim is to be in the PL for a decent period of time, but then to be buying better players to flip for bigger money, similar to Brighton but with much less debt to owners (4-500 million for them so far)
If we hadn’t lost the other day, most of you wouldn’t be flapping like this, let’s be honest here

Our fan base in comparisons to others are actually very lenient. Look at Everton as a perfect example of a flappy fan base.
You can try normalise it as much as possible but this is not normal. To liken us to Brighton is nothing short of a joke at this point.

They were buying cheap, then selling higher
Eventually they’ve raised the money they’ve been paying for players and then they’ll sell them for even more
Do try to at least understand that point of it, I can use another club if it helps

The concerns started prior to Saturday's kick-off and have escalated because of increasing knowledge of player sales or anticipated player sales. You're misreading things if you think Saturday's result is the primary reason.

How connected can we feel beyond going each week, talking to fellow Clarets and so on - that’ll never change for me so I’m no more or less connected than ever. Will always love the club. Disillusioned with the direction of travel and fearful over our ownership and finances? Absolutely. Different to my own feelings for the club though, they have to be seperated.

The doubts started emerging after kompany left because so many people had faith in him to restore promotion it was almost a sure fire banker for some people. He was the first of the new order to leave the rest inevitably followed him out of the exit door. Things have gradually got worse it's only till recently because the windows closing things are gathering pace. It's always been there just dormant.

I'd say it goes back further than that for some people - to the leveraged buy out and concerns about our financial sustainability.

Describing last summer’s dealings as ‘perfectly normal’ is some take on what went on. Those dealings and the disenfranchised players that were left are, I believe, the root cause of the problems we see now.
Sensible dealing last summer, a manager that was reigned in with his signings, some pragmatism in how we played and our issues now would be which players we can bring in for another season in the PL.
Between Pace and Kompany, we’ve royally ****** things up and this is why we are where we are now. Get the replacements wrong (assuming we get enough) and make no mistake, we are in trouble.
