Came in for a bit of stick on here when we were rumoured to be signing him, thought he was superb in that holding midfield role.

Promising debut. The only problem is that our CM's are too similar to each other.

Played well. Not sure he was "superb" but we can all be very pleased with that performance. If he plays like that regularly, it will be a fine acquisition and management.

He was decent but we certainly missed Josh Cullen today.

Surprised he was subbed, as he was having a good game . Offers us more steel, and is good at winning aerial duels in the middle of the park, where we had traditionally been poor

Yep. We gave the ball away too often which I don't think we would do as much with Cullen in.

I thought he was really good ……. but can also see why Stoke fans didn’t rate him.
He pressed well, broke their play up well, won a lot of tackles and was a great presence.
His passing though …… not so much. Few times he had chances to set us away on the break quickly and he over or under hit passes. Just a beat too late or a step behind ….. but those fine margins matter.
But for £500k, as a ball winner …… I like him.

He was decent enough, but his passing was a bit hit and miss.
I presume he won’t be a regular starter once Cullen’s back, but a good option to have on the bench.

He's a battler, but doesn't have the range of passing that Cullen has.

Did ok a bit ponderous on the ball in the 2nd half.

Of course we missed Cullen. Who in this league wouldn’t? But I think he had a solid debut. Only came in yesterday and slotted right in. Looked to be worth the money spent on him.

Laurent great a breaking up the play and getting stuck in, but his quality on the ball nowhere near Cullen

Thought he was very good today. Sometimes superb.
Doesn't have Cullen's passing range but few do. His off the ball play, positional sense and ability to foresee danger looked miles ahead of anyone else in our squad.
I'll be happy to see him keep his place if he plays like that.

I liked the look of him. Held his position well in the middle and has presence. Was organising throughout and allowed Brownhill to run forward which is his biggest attribute.

I thought he was average his movement to receive was poor to get or pull there pressing two away never dropped into full back position or rotated anywhere when we had secure possession
On the ball looked ponderous but he worked hard adds height and battles 1st contact and 2nd balls - without the ball no issues
First game though but looked what I have seen before a battler who limited

I thought he was excellent. Nothing startling, but soild. Didn't try to do anything clever, kept it simple and shone because of it. I thought his making himself available for a pass, his use of the ball, every team needs a Mr dependable, and that's what he looked today.
Good debut.

I thought he was very good. Excellent at picking up a loose ball and winning the 2nd ball. Kind of player every side needs - think he offers something different than Cullen.

Not seen your posts before but this is spot on. He didn't have give anywhere enough control of the game as he should with the type of player he is because he wasn't dropping wide at all or giving an option to receive it. I thought he was really disappointing. There was also an issue with picking up second balls when they went long because he was vacating that area for some reason.

Bumba is staying that Cullen is out for longer than we think as a fact rather than as his opinion.
Why?
God knows.

Thought he was very good today and just the type of player we have been missing. Put himself into challenges including a few clever fouls. Was a presence in the air aswell. A good destroyer. I’d play him as a single pivot and have 2 out of Brownhill/Hannibal/Cullen in front of him in more advanced positions with Flemming up front instead of Foster. That’s a good solid spine.

I thought he was very good , particularly as I don’t think anyone has mentioned, like several of the other players , absolutely no match experience of playing together.

He thought he fitted in seamlessly seeing that he only had probably one training session with his team mates. Good solid pro does the physical stuff … we need a presence like him.

.
Thought the new lads showed us enough today to say we are in with a shout in this league

A League 1 Club ( 3rd Tier Birmingham City ) paid Fulham a reported £10m, including add-ons for Fulham's Jay Stansfield yesterday ... A £500k signing who can slot straight into a Championship side, and play like he did today is an absolute bargain in today's crazy world ..

Given his arrival in Friday and key position on Saturday, against huge local rivals, I thought he was superb. He did make some key pases, despite what some have stated. Got stuck in, when needed.
My man of the match, given his zero prep.

Laurent also showed his leadership by ushering Hannibal and kosleosho from the linesman. Our squad now has worrall, Cullen, brownhill, Laurent who have all been captains. Jay Rod who gets the club. Then you have roberts and Redmond who are experienced pros.
Really looking forward to what this team can do this season

If he was technically better, he'd be in the premier league. But I can totally see why we've signed him, a snip at the price and he'll be a great asset
