STARTING LINEUP:
Trafford 6 - Nearly caught out in the opening minute, couldn't do anything to save their goal, made a big save in the second half.
Roberts 5 - Very poor decision making.
Esteve 7 MOTM - When you watch him, you immediately realise he's level above this league. Let's pray his injury is a mild one.
Worrall 6 - Made some important clearances, but also lost a crucial header before their equaliser. Sometimes looks clumsy in possession and he's noticeably slower than O'Shea.
Pires 6 - Decent game. Looked dangerous in the first half but faded.
Laurent 7 - Promising debut. Had some important tackles in the middle.
Brownhill 7 - I was about to give him MOTM because he was great both offensively and defensively, but not sure why he thought it was a good idea to have a go from distance three times in a row.
Hannibal 6 - Not sure he should play as high up on the pitch as he did.
Anthony 7 - Great assist, decent first touches. Looks really handful.
Koleosho 6 - Started lively, but needs to improve his decision making.
Foster 7 - Well taken goal. Pressed a lot, showed nice skill.
SUBS:
Sarmiento 5 - Wasn't involved much.
Rodriguez 5 - Not sure he touched the ball.
Benson 5 - Poor. Skied his big chance and got injured moments later.
Egan-Riley 4 - Came on for the last 10 minutes and made two mistakes that could have cost us.
MANAGER:
Parker 6 - I'll give him a benefit of the doubt because this game has come too early. But there needs to be improvement on our attacking play. Our only source of creativity seems to be individual quality of some players.

He lost the header that gave Blackburn their goal and was caught out of position quite a lot - didn't look fit.

Trafford 7 - thought the stop against Dolan was superb with his legs
Roberts 6 - why no one picked him out on the overlap I don’t know
Worrall 6 - rusty, will get better
Esteve 8* - class above, hope it’s not a serious strain
Pires 6 - offers something but not quite enough yet
Laurent 7 - solid debut, physical presence and used the ball well
Brownhill 6 - faded badly and he’ll never ever score a free kick
Hannibal 6 - aggressive pressing, hopefully see more of him as an attacking threat
Koleosho 6 - does some stuff brilliantly but final decision making poor
Anthony 7 - impressive, looks a good addition, quality assist
Foster 8 - good goal, linked play well
Benson 4 - terrible cameo if we are being honest
Sarmiento 5 - wasn’t involved enough to score higher

Annoying not to get a win but in fairness they had a goal disallowed which seemed onside. The commentators seemed to obsess with the lack of shots on target, however, they blocked really well and I can see this team gelling really well. They defended very well, often you score due to mistakes made and they hardly made any.
Trafford 6
Couple of good saves but that bad clearance, not good. Not at fault with the goal as that's a goal of the season contender.
Roberts 7
Did well, supports who ever is in front of him.
Worrall 7
Didn't look rusty - good game.
Esteve 7
Hope the injury isn't bad and Parker did well to get him off the pitch sooner rather than later.
Pires 7
Like him, the way he offers options inside could be very useful.
Laurent 8
Played very well, only downside I can think of was that a couple of times he needed to move the ball quicker.
Brownhill 7
Decision making needs to be better, he was having long shots without looking up to see what options he had.
Koleosho 6
Played well, perhaps he tried too hard at points. We need to manage our expectations with him, with the right support and backing he could be a class act.
Hannibal 7
Looks the part but needs to realise the minute he gets a yellow the opposition will be looking to get him a second one. One of their players dived near him with no contact made. We don't have VAR this season and I suspect Parker is as well placed as anyone given his position to try and lower his red-card liabilities.
Anthony 8
Could lose you in a phone box, very slippery and his first touch is incredible. Great cross.
Foster 7
Points for the goal and work rate. He's a liability when he tries to drop deep though, his first touch and passing isn't good enough and a few times he lost the ball doing this. Given where it occurs (e.g. other players overlapping) it's quite dangerous as the opposition have the ball and a lot of space.
Egan-Riley 4
Hard to be bad coming on as a sub, I don't know much about him but falling over and that first touch could have lost it for us.
Benson 5
People expecting him to cut in and score a worldie. Not going to happen all the time and he needs to figure out what to do when the defenders force him on his right foot. If he shoots every time people will stop making the runs.
Sarmiento 5
Tough ask with the lack of team practice but he looked lively and will be important for us this season.

Frustrating one, but this is a team thrown together and it’s been a chaotic week. They put up a decent backs against the wall performance and we were just missing that final pass. Plenty to come from this team and quite a few positives to build on. Fourteen years and counting.

Trafford 6 - made some saves , gave a few heart attacks ..standard.
Roberts 6 ..never got involved in an attacking sense
Worrall 5 - doesn't look too comfortable on the ball and slow. Good defender and leader but can see us getting done in behind.
Esteve - thank god we kept him
Laurent 7 - very good debut in the circumstances
Brownhill 7 - really good 1st half, not so good second
Koleosho - 8 - some really low ratings? The kid looks electric everytime he gets the ball. A class above.
Hannibal 7. Put himself about m hopefully more to come
Anthony 7 - lovely cross. Quitet second half but surely that was a pen.
Foster - proved he will score goals at this level. Massive we've kept him.

Worrall: 5 mistake for their goal
Esteve: 8 Brilliant player
Laurent: 8* solid and imposing
Brownhill: 6 was a captain today rather than a player
Koleosho: 4 pace pushes teams back, not that useful when the oppo are in a low block.
Hannibal: 7 love him already
Anthony: 8 but understandably flagged late on
Foster: 5 decent game, but some wasteful flicks and pushes round the corner.

Roberts 5 gave the ball away countless times
Worrall 6 done ok but looked off the pace
Esteve 8 superb CH display
Pires 6 bit shakey and some decent overlaps
Laurent 8 good debut, strong in the tackle and some good pinged balls out to the flanks.
Brownhill 8 that first half he was exceptional
Koleosho 6 reasonable game
Hannibal 7 Like what I see from him, good game but lost his cool a few times
Anthony 7 great assist and some good play down the wing.
Foster 7 had a good game and a great goal.

Trafford 6 - Flapped and doesn't show calm under pressure. Luckily didn't have much to do.
Roberts 5 - Some really poor passing
Esteve 7 Covered Pires numerous times and made up for Worrell's lack of pace at least once.
Worrall 6 - Reads the game well and good in the air, but he is susceptible on the counter with his lack of pace.
Pires 5 - Started bright, but kept getting caught out. Too sloppy, too often. His set piece delivery was poor too. Not convinced by him at all.
Laurent 6 - Did well in that middle. Wasn't afraid to put himself about and win the ball.
Brownhill 6 - The final product let him down today, but he did move the ball about well in the middle and linked with the front men well.
Hannibal 7 - If that ball is loose you can guarantee he will be competing for it. Incredible levels of energy and backs out of nothing. Only thing was he was a little sloppy at times, but thinkhe can only get better.
Anthony 7 - Thought he actually did really well, really put it to them down that left side second half and his final ball is good too.
Koleosho 7 - Although not a lot came off for him today he is always looking to run at them and try and make something happen.
Foster 7 - Took his goal well and looks better when he stays up top. it all starts going a bit pear shaped when he starts coming deep and trying tricky stuff.
SUBS:
Sarmiento 5- Struggled to make any impact.

I tend to agree with Harper
Thought Koleosho looked excellent at times but his final ball was really really poor all game.
That’s a side of his game he needs to work on if he wants to get to odoberts level

Amazing how people see games differently.
Trafford - 7- Fine, made all the saves he needed to.
Roberts - 7 - Solid
Esteve - 8* A class above
Worrall - 7- Think he was fine, lacks pace but reads the game well and clearly a leader
Pires -6
Laurent - 6 - Did ok but misplaced some passes and I think we missed Cullen’s calmness on the ball, especially when they tried to spoil the game when going to 10.
Brownhill - 7 - Typical Brownhill, busy, worked hard, put a shift in.
Hannibal - 7- Works hard, pressed well, but I would have swapped him and Brownhill around, think Brownhill works better in the 10.
Koleosho - 7 - lively, he’s better on the left than right, not great at going on the outside.
Anthony - 8- a threat, lacks pace but makes up for it in trickery and end product. Great cross for the goal
Foster - 6 - just doesn’t hold the ball up well enough to play up front alone.
Subs
Sarmiento - 6 - didn’t do much
Benson - 4 - his one trick didn’t come off, and coming off injured rather than hobbling on for two minutes shows a weak mentality IMO. This is a player who refused to play last weekend, clearly his heart isn’t in it. That really annoyed me.
Egan-Riley - 3 - Young lad, but that was terrible
Jay Rod - Would have had him earlier
We will get better, and I don’t think we will have any issues defensively, but I do worry where the goals are coming from. There is nobody like Tella who will get 15-20 goals.

Trafford - 5 Always fills me with dread. Slow in possession, wanders of his line and his kicking is really poor.
Roberts - 6 Solid game but still gives the odd silly pass.
Esteve - 8 Composed and looks a real player
Worrall - 7 Good home debut. Not the quickest but didn’t lose many challenges.
Pires - 3 Probably the worst left back I’ve seen in a long time. Can’t pass, can’t defend and his set pieces are on the whole woeful.
Koleosho - 6 Started well but didn’t really impact the game after half time.
Laurent - 6 Neat and tidy and looked ok as the defensive midfielder.
Brownhill - 6 Typical Josh performance. Nothing special but glad he’s still our player.
Anthony - 7 Great ball for the goal. Became more involved 2nd half. Looks promising.
Hannibal - 5 Not quite sure what position he was supposed to be playing. Didn’t really get involved.
Foster - 6 Played as the target man but that he ain’t. +1 for the goal.
Sarmiento - 4 Never got involved. Hopefully a couple of weeks on the training pitch with his new teammates will improve him.
Jay Rod - 4 Again played out of position and it shows. Never involved.
Benson - 3 Mr Glass
Egan-Riley - N/A
At 12.30 today would have taken a point so not too disappointed. I suppose you expect to make more chances when playing against 10 but Rovers soaked up our pressure easily abley assisted by our rubbish balls in to the box.

Benson - he's no Oderbert!
A team thrown together in less than a week and some players who have been here barely 24 hours! We were the better side, but couldn't break them down really (the excellent goal apart) as they defended extremely well and tbf they pressed us really well and we ended up rushed with our passing out. Until we almost threw the game right at the end they hadn't threatened aside from scoring a worldy and the sending off didn't in any way alter the game. They're very (overly!) physical and we need to deal with that. Overall good signs and definitely more to come from this team when it properly gels. It took Kompany's promotion team untill the end of October to really bed in, so I'm pretty hopeful right now after watching that.
