Half time beverage service

Went down way before the half time whistle for an overpriced San Miguel, queued up at the pre order point and placed my order at 13.21, it took until 13.38 to get my over priced pint.
Who is running the sh1t show that is the catering department. Absolutely abysmal planning from start to finish.

Our ordering point screens had items being out of stock when you could actually see said items behind the bar.

Ended up getting tea and coffee for free.
They weren't showing up on the ordering system. Asked staff behind the counter how to order them, someone (I assume with some vague authority) said to just give them to us.
Calling it shambolic is too kind.

Early start today and got there expecting the coffee lads in their mobile vans near the fan’s zone, obviously away, no doubt at an outside event, so we gave in and bought two coffees in the lower concourse, my goodness it was hogwash. I asked for some milk, expecting one of those sachet’s “ sorry” came the reply, we don’t have milk. Never again.

How sad. Having a pint more important to you than cheering your team on. Why not just watch it in the pub?

I've never understood the mentality of missing 20 minutes of the game for an overpriced, UK brewed pi$$ water in a plastic glass.

I told the guy serving me although it wasn’t his fault, that the management should be getting more staff to pre pour beers. It isn’t good enough. The service in the fan zone is Bob on. Why can’t it be extended to the concourse?

What’s happened to the Burnley branded water bottles? Getting milk in the JHU has been a problem for a couple of years now.

My son was desperate for water, it was so hot in the stand. After queing for 5 mins, order points said "sold out"
Went to the kiosks where they had lots of water in the fridges. The staff behind the kiosk would not serve me water, I was wanting to pay but they wouldn't accept it. Simply would not allow it and told me to queue again and select a different bar (top right corner). How on earth is this user friendly?? How are you supposed to know that? Why can't I just order a water?
It's absolutely shambolic and how they operate needs a serious review.

It’s been an awful service for years, and will continue to be. ALK have been here long enough now to implement changes, if they viewed it as any sort of priority, but they clearly don’t.
Still, if you’re disgruntled at least you can go into the newly refurbished hospitality lounges in the JH and Jimmy Mac stands. Funny how they’ve been quick to revamp these areas, but continue to ignore the experience for the vast majority of fans in the concourses. Clearly, they see the hospitality lounges as a better opportunity to maximise match day revenue. Comes across as if they couldn’t give a toss about the ordinary fan in the concourse, who they can’t generate extra revenue off.

As with other posts I can't fathom out why people have this obsession with having to eat and drink at half time.
If you are hungry or thirsty then why not have something before the match ?
You can go to the New Brewm and get a pint of Burnley brewed real ale for £2.00 on a match day . The Bridge does a pint of Moorhouses for £2.50.
I believe that the cafe across from the Park View chippy serves Haffners pie and peas for £3.50.
If you think that the food & drink at the Turf is overpriced and of poor quality along with crap service then don't bother.

I’ve put a stop on using them last season. They’ve lost revenue from me and I know others that have done the same. The final straw was ordering something that didn’t exist, queuing up for the pleasure and missing some of the match to organise a refund. I wrote in about it but heard nothing back. Well overpriced and awful service and system. Take everything with me now. It’s a shambles.

I’m not sure anyone has an obsession with eating and drinking at half time. Having food and drink available to consume at the ground has been part of football for as long as I’ve known it. There is no excuse for the offering to be so poor, regardless of whether it affects you or not.

What if the person isn’t hungry or thirsty before the match?
What if they are coming straight from work and haven’t had time to have something beforehand?
Yes there isn’t much choice and what they do have is overpriced, but that shouldn’t excuse the fact that you should be able to receive what you’ve ordered, and if you don’t, be able to get a refund

It's classic UTC to see a thread where someone wanted to buy water for his kid and someone wanted milk with a coffee and try to make out the problem is the customer and not the business.

They need to gut them all out and make the units available to rent and let local business have stalls on match day.

My son got a pint of cider at half time, thought it was £5, but was charged £5.80, when he queried the price was told that was the price today. If that's not profiteering, what is, bloody scandalous.

Once again, some of my group were able to order and pay at the counter in the JHU at the far end, towards the cricket field. I've still yet to even see one of these ordering kiosks.
Personally,.I rarely bother as it's an absolute rip off, but it's strange how it's so different at our end.

I don’t think the order kiosks are used in the upper tier - there are none in the JMU either
I think it’s because the upper concourses are narrow and there’s not enough space

I’ve also stopped bothering when levy came in and managed the impossible - to make the catering worse. They had such a low bar it was an open goal for some improvements, but they missed spectacularly.
But yesterday being an early KO my lads wanted two pies. I went to the pie stall and found they had now started serving beer there, so thought I’d have a pint (I have stopped having them, but since I was there)…
Anyway, the service was the worst I have ever seen it. The staff so slow the card machine went in stand by mode on the guy in front of me

then I ordered my two pies and a pint and it must’ve taken the guy 7 minutes to get me them. My kids had eaten their pies before I paid. The pint was particularly problematic after a barrel change but the guy kept walking at snails pace to the other units to top up the pint and each time the head got bigger! He was walking up and down past me, completely clueless, each time having botched the pint some more. It was like something from a laurel and hardy sketch it was that ridiculous. The guy behind me was apoplectic. Most didn’t stay and just walked away.
In the main I agree with the posters just saying go elsewhere and give other local businesses your custom. But Rileybobs is also right that the fans have a right to expect a service WAY above what it is today before you even start to consider the product selection or state of the concourses.

Surely our matchday experience director or whatever his pumped up title is has had long enough to sort this shambles out. I've stopped buying anything now but it just isn't worth the hassle for the overpriced stuff on offer, nearly everyone I know is of the same mindset,it's a real loss of revenue.

The Director of Fan Experience is far too busy trying to find someone to bang the drum which he bought, rather than trying to improve the fans catering experience!

I don’t and won’t buy anything else inside Turf Moor till they sort it all out
A - It’s too Expensive for what is it
B - it’s really really poor service
The only way it will change is if people don’t pay it
Understand some people have no choice coming in from work etc …
But they are having us on with that side of things ATM

Is this the Russell fella? The one who was briefly seen on concourses at the start of last season? The one who must pinch himself every morning when he gets up just to make sure he really is getting paid for being another hopeless pr!ck in a sharp suit.
Yet another bluffer who hasn’t got a clue what a fan experience should be. Does the ticket office also come under his remit?
Buying, or struggling to buy a ticket or season tickets not arriving must be under the umbrella of fan experience?

They have to provide tap water free of charge when required. I’ve had issues at games in the past at various grounds and never had an issue getting water other than at Burnley. If it happens again, get a steward and tell them you need water.

An easier way is to report them to “Health and Safety” after the assistance of a steward (good luck with that by the way) it’s a shocking state of affairs.

As I am driving to and from the match, I get a coffee and since they stopped the madness of Milk Sachets (last season) the pre match white coffee has been pretty good really.
Not much complaint about the catering (apart from Twix prices) from me

Not sure when it went all went Arsenal over heels but I used to go in the concourse, have my favourite fit bird serve me and I would occasionally spot her and her workmates in their complimentary staff seats near the vomitory cheering the clarets on. Then one season all these lovely friendly staff were replaced by Arsenals and 'meal deals' were abolished as was the pepper from the Steak and Pepper pies.
