Anybody think it was a bit strange that it didn't have a banner attached and not a little scary how low it was over the Cricket Field stand ?

It was actually quite an aggressive manoeuvre that in some countries would have been illegal, flying so low and fast.

I think it was a police plane but they need to publicise it.as it did cause some fuss where I was sat.

I thought I was the only person who saw it, but it looked so low that I thought it was going to fly in to the stand at one point. Quite scary having it fly so low close to the ground.

It was the police plane.
No idea why they were flying it in the manner that they did

It made quite a few loops!

This screenshot is from Facebook by the way, in case there are any incriminating tabs!

The police used drones to monitor crowds

I assume it was following the Blackburn coaches because it moved towards the motorway for the latter part

Why do the police have a plane?

It was rather bizarre, I can't really see the point of it considering it can't hover over an area unlike the helicopter.

It's a decent bit of kit, although it can't hover it's still quite nimble and gives decent coverage in terms of the cameras.
I believe it's not the favoured aircraft due to its cost to run

I can see its benefit when searching over a wide area, but for crowd monitoring over a small area it doesn't make sense IMHO

They can stay in the air a lot longer than a helicopter, cover a much wider, and are deal for crowd monitoring for footbal games, and lost person searches etc. Although yesterday it wasn't relevant, they can also fly in much worse weather than a helicopter..

Maybe it was flying so low because the flight attendant was offering a ‘mile-high’ experience” at he time.

Helicopters cost significantly more to run than a light aircraft. A helicopter has no wing unless those rotor blades are spinning
