Could do with a good partnership between Jennings and Livingstone … 56/3 off 6 overs so in the balance.

Now 60-5.
This is a horrible season for Lancashire. Very likely to get relegated.

Something totally toxic at Lancs this season - I heard that Salt and Wood wanted to play the last game against Hampshire and were refused permission. It’s no good having promising youngsters when the experienced players aren’t being played.

Absolutely pathetic display. Losing 7 wickets in 10 overs with some abject batting.

Pulled out tonight with a calf injury, he hasn't played a game since June.

Truly dismal ….only Jennings and Livingstone got more than 6 . Some awful batting and it’s all a major anti-climax. Will carry on watching but it feels like staying to the end v Man City now.

He must be on thin ice, it's been a disaster ..
The highlight is the men reaching the quarter finals of the T20, where they look to be heading to defeat ... They lost the first six out of eight games in the One-day cup, with only one game being close, before winning the last two dead rubbers. We're looking 50/50 to be relegated to Division 2 of the County Championship with 3 games to go, and have lost the last two games by over an Innings ..
The women's team have negative records in both the T20 and the one-day Cup yet again ...

Terrible result - serious questions need to be asked about this shambles. Resting players so that they were ready for this game and we get a performance like that. Why play Hartley if you are not going to bowl him ? Being an exile living in Kent I was really hoping I wouldn’t be watching Lancashire next year as Kent are all but relegated ……. But there is a lot of work to be done to stay in Divisiin 1. Supporting Kancashire and Burnley is never an easy ride !

Was surprised to see Lancs as favourites for this game. 11/10 looked a big price for Sussex.
Within 7 overs I was fairly certain my bet was up. Massive changes are needed at Lancs at the end of this season

Radio Lancashire tonight said they'd been trying to sign a Pakistani Test fast bowler for the last 3 County Championship games, the first of which starts on Monday, but the deal has fallen through ...
Now that the Sri Lanka series has been secured, a phone call to a certain JM Anderson might be in order ... I suspect he'd be a handful in September conditions in England ..

I believe the last two games are being played with that Kookaburra ball so perhaps bowlers won’t be particularly keen to turn out.

Kookaburra ball never seemed to be a problem for Lillee and Thompson, Starc for that matter.

I hadn’t contributed to this thread and hoped it might have disappeared.
From losing Phil Salt first ball, which can happen, I thought it was as big a let down from a Lancashire team as I can remember.
It’s clear changes are required and big changes.

We just need bowlers like them in the next two weeks then.
I’m a big Jimmy fan but not sure he’s got that in him at this stage of his career .

Agree had this chat with my dad this morning. Games like this they’d win either with ease or with a big performance from key players back in the late 80’s and 90’s. They seem to be more bothered about putting concerts on. Surely for last 3 championship games they look to bring the worlds best bowler in Anderson in?

I’ve seen so many fantastic wins in the various limited overs competitions over the years but I just don’t have confidence in this team.

Good news is Anderson is playing the last three games for Lancs.
The bad news is it’s West Indian Anderson Phillip, signed as overseas player.
No me either!

We don’t want James Anderson in the team - he’s picked up an injury playing football at the Oval.

Did they rest players? If anyone needs a rest because a 20-20 game is coming up, then they're in the wrong job. The game last 3 hours and half that time you have your feet up in the pavilion; the most energetic anyone has to be is the bowler who has to bowl 24 balls.
Heaven help the teams that reach the final and have to play twice in a day.

They are in the England T20 squad for the series against Australia which starts on Wednesday. In fact Salt is captain.

Durham, 367 for 4 lead by 139 runs with six wickets remaining. 268 stand between seasoned pro’s Bedingham, (177 n.o) and Ackermann (111 n.o.). We’re not going to win this one.
Somebody above said that Lancashire are the Manchester United of cricket. True, but they look more like Burnley last year in the Premier League. We lost a lot of experience losing Davies, Vilas, Croft and Jones from the batting line up and replaced them with kids who obviously aren’t ready. The overseas players like Bruce, Green and Iyer have not performed to any significant effect. And this on top of Buttler, Salt and Livingstone rarely being available compounds everything. Recruitment needs to get its thinking caps on but surely someone at the top, like Chilton, must pay with their jobs.

3rd defeat on the trot by an innings incoming. Only the rain can save them from defeat in this one but with their last 2 games you would think relegation is deservedly done.

Vilas and Croft have been big blows, but Davies and Jones were a couple of years ago, and we had a decent enough couple of seasons before this one.
I'm not sure about the captaincy at the minute since Vilas went, but I do agree we have a lot of young lads who aren't quite fully baked.

Jones left on loan last season and permanently in the summer.
A little harsh on Green who was signed for the T20 and did well. He played in the Championship out of desperation but the others have been poor.
