I hope Tony and the mods don't mind me posting this (and feel free to whip it down if I'm breaking the rules ) but I just thought I'd share the fact that me and a mate have opened a new bar in Water Street in Todmorden - The Beer Necessities!

Four real ales on (from today!), wide keg selection (including permanent lines from Seven Brothers and Northern Whisper) and a fridge full of Belgian, German and UK stuff.

Plus we have a loyalty card - buy 9 pints of real ale and get your 10th free!

We're looking forward to hosting the West Yorkshire Clarets later this month as well and it would be great to see any Clarets who are in the area pop in for a pint!

As an aside, I googled your bar name but nothing came up on maps. You might want to get your location set up on there so people can find you easier.

Should have read your original post properly, you already said that. Great Thai food in Three Wise Monkeys - very authentic and spicy for anyone looking for that sort of thing. That's one weekend soon sorted for us!

Yeah 10% across all cask ales with a a CAMRA card. The two mentioned above are the permanent lines and then we'll have two changing lines.

Absolutely! Big jar of treats on the bar. And we’ve probably had 10-12 dogs in the past two evenings since opening.

Walked past today as happened to be in Tod and thought it looked fantastic. Will definitely be visiting in the near future. A walk along the canal between Tod and Hebden Bridge is a great pleasure.

Ightenhill Claret - I know your business partner and he told me about what he was doing a few months ago.
I’ve got family over Tod way so gonna let them know about it.
There’s a bunch of us who go on a long walk every 3 or 4 months too so we said we will pick a route over there and pop into see him.

Had a few beers around Todmorden yesterday because of our free Saturday, some very good pubs I was quite surprised I've never been before, we popped into The Beer Necessities twice and it's a very nice bar, good luck with it and we'll be back again.

Pleased to say that after stocking various Rooster beers for the last few months, I finally got to meet PenfoldClaret today over in Harrogate at the Rooster trade social.
Always brilliant to chat the Clarets over a few beers!
