Team Vs Leeds

Apologies if there's a thread but can't see one. Tough game today! I know we need to stay solid to a degree but I hope Parker goes for it.
Trafford
Roberts (if fit)
Worrall
Esteve
Humphreys
Cullen
Brownhill
Anthony
Flemming
Koleosho
Foster
I suspect he may start flemming on the bench and put a player like hannibal or Laurent a little further back. Which I get, but we're a lot less reliant on our wingers beating players 1:1 if flemming can get in some pockets of space around the box.

Trafford
Roberts
Steve
Worral
Humphreys
Brownhill
Mejbri
Anthony
Flemming
Koleosho
Foster
Based upon Cullen being too soon to return and hoping Flemming and Roberts are over the knocks picked up

No way in such an important game is Laurent going to be left out. Probably same team as against Blackburn-maybe Fleming for Hannibal

Definitely no changes to the starting XI today.
But Cullen, Fleming and Sarmiento off the bench looks decent!

Personally I don't see Laurent being a regular starter when we have a fit midfield

Don’t think Roberts will make it so there should be a change there.

Assuming Roberts and Cullen make it, I've got the last 2 places being between Hannibal, Anthony and Flemming. I think barring injury a back 5 of Trafford, Roberts Worrall Esteve and Pires, plus Cullen and Brownhill, Koleosho and Foster are pretty certain to start.
Personally for a game at Leeds I'd go with Hannibal and Flemming but you can make a case for any combination and doubtless fitness and readiness will be a factor.
If Roberts doesn't make it, it will be interesting to see who deputise at right back. Could be any of Egan Riley Humphries or Sambo.

No Dan James for Leeds. Doubts over Wober and possibly Bamford.

Roberts will have inside knowledge of the strengths/weaknesses of Leeds and how they set up against the likes of us. I think he had high hopes of a permanent contract with them and will want to show them what they’ve missed if he’s fit to play.

I reckon Cullen will make it - late fitness test said or not. If he’s 80+% fit, you start him and sub him later if he tires in a game of this potential importance.

What minute will the Hannibal red card be shown I’m going for late first half. Leeds will target him

No Roberts either.

So we are playing without a recognised striker, and already have one of the lowest xG in the league.

Really hope Foster just has a minor injury, if it is his mental health I wish him well but it might be in the best interests of all parties if his time at Burnley comes to an end and he rebuilds his health elsewhere.

We should be okay physically with that line up. Massive miss is Foster and looks like a weakness in our squad. A draw would be fine today.

Not the best preparation losing first choice starters but it does prove our squad depth.
When Foster is out it does highlight the place Jay Rod is taking in the squad and the need for a younger upgrade.
Nothing against Jay but we literally have no other option apart from the untried Hountondji.

Bit if a jump - he’s been away on National Duty
I assume it’s a precautionary move
He’s not the only one that’s been away that’s not in the squad

Why would you suddenly think he may have health issues? probably knackered trailing half round the globe and back.

An interesting line up and presume it’s based more on the missing Foster ( leaving Cullen out) than an “ ideal XI” That said the players bought as “ starters “ pretty much all feature and you get the idea this is close to the team Parkers looking for .

Still going to take time a new team to gel. Not sure whether loss of Foster is a blow or not but he scored against Rovers and for SA so I view it as a setback.
Point would be okay again in the circumstances but expect a sold if unspectacular Leeds win if only because we probably still won't have much goal threat yet, and we have Calamity Jane at the back who will no doubt be targeted like Rovers did right from the kick off

Foster is a big miss.
Said at the end of the transfer window that we were light up top and this highlights the fact.

Spain won the World Cup and dominated European football without a recognised striker. What was their xG like?
