Hi all

I can see there are many streets surrounding Hillsborough but though I would ask if it's okay to park in and around the stadium to anyone who has been before and any suggestions where is better ?

Thanks in advance and UTC

Depends which way you're coming but last time I parked on some estate just past their training ground - Middlewod Drive. Only a short walk and quick to get away as most people are heading back into town. All permit holder only around the ground.

Drinking is fine anywhere in the city centre and trams and buses provide good transport to and from Hillsborough.

Pubs near the ground tend to be home fans only although we did sneak into the Spoons one New Year’s Day.

Staying at the Premier inn on Angel street with my lad (31) so we can have a bit of a night out . Any suggestions of a decent venue for a beer and live music ?

If anyone is going by train there is a tram from Sheffield main station to the ground (plus buses). If anyone is retired and has a free bus pass ,this should give you free travel on the tram too.

The Hop on West Street used to be a good place for beer and live music.

Burnley police have just posted Snake pass will be closed for two weeks, for anyone thinking of going that way.

Can always use Woodhead instead if you want to avoid the M62/M1

Woodhead is the best route in any case, and then through Stocksbridge. Drops almost straight onto the ground at the Leppins Lane end.

I only found out last night that I can use my bus pass on the tram. Worth noting that you have to change. If you get the tram from the station you will need to change at one of the first three stops which are Fitzalan Square, Castle Square and Cathedral. Then it's direct to Hillsborough (best stop Leppins Lane).

How big are the queues to get back on the tram after the match at the Leppongs Lane stop?

Was a bit crammed on our tram but we managed to squeeze on the first one.

It was beyond crammed - but it got us back into the city centre
