Stoke sack Schumacher

Post by claretonthecoast1882 » Mon Sep 16, 2024 9:18 am

Didn't think Stoke had started too bad, just looked and they are 13th. That is probably where you would expect them to be.

Wouldn't be a surprise given the start they've had but they were just one game from promotion last season. Scott Arfield hasn't started for them in the league since the opening day, they maybe need to get him back in.

I wonder if they can tempt Eustace from Rovers.

He isn't at all popular, If you are on Twtiter have a look at Cameron Jerome's posts, an ex player ,released so could
be a bit of sour grapes but he is pretty scathing ...

and it's my turn to spell an ex-Claret's name wrong. I meant Jon Walters.

Early links to the job:

Ryan Lowe 2/1
Nigel Pearson 5/1
Frank Lampard 8/1
Michael Beale 10/1
Graham Potter 10/1
Charlie Adam 12/1

I would probably put £1 on it being none of the above.

Set to appoint Narcis Pelach, who is an assistant coach at Norwich.

I wonder if they’d be interested in him if he wasn’t Spanish.

This thread , with mention of Bolton , and the prospect of a young relatively unknown Spanish coach set to become Stoke manager, made me think of Hudds.4th goal at Bolton on Saturday. Im assuming this chap will be yet another Pep disciple, so maybe Stoke fans should prepare for some similar examples of passing out from the back...

Stoke is the perfect area for a certain Everton manager. Long ball. Low block. Big slow target man… perfect

I always worry that if we don't get back into the Premier league this or next year we could end up like Stoke, unfashionable, mid table championship team.

Reading various reports, seems like they were utterly
abysmal v Huddersfield. (As the score would suggest)
Evatt is quoted as saying that his side were "still hurting"
from losing last seasons playoff final to Oxford.
"It's confidence. Ever since we lost that final, there's such negative energy around everything and everywhere."

Think we're catching up with them a bit, must be ooooh,
nine years behind now? 8-)

Sorry to the op for going a bit 'off topic' with the Bolton comments, apparently Evatt is in charge for saturday's game v Reading
but some backroom staff are being let go ..
