Are they going to get away with it?

If they do maybe they will get sued by Everton et al.

What do you think?

Everton threatening to sue anyone is irony at its finest.

I hope they get punted into non-league.

It will make the prem much more interesting if they are relegated a few divisions. Can’t stand them.

Manchester City Will imo remain permanently in the Premier Division — maybe a fine that will not affect their super rich owners

Likely to go on for years without a conclusive result.

This is what will happen, the appeal for anything will take years, then the appeal to the appeal will be taken to a higher body and that will take years etc etc etc

It seems it can't be taken to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. They would have the right to appeal to an independent panel, so it shouldn't drag on for years because there are limitations to where it can be escalated.

Many people will make loads of money including, of course, the FA, the Premier League, etc.
Wembley will paid off in an instance, if not already paid off

On the face of it it is difficult to see how city are going be exonerated. I think most people are expecting some, if not all, charges will be proven. I hope that they are and we can all watch them struggle to equate cheating with success.

The thing most people are confusing is the nature of the charges are completely different to the likes of Everton.

When City start bringing issues such as the Premier League are being racist against their owners it shows they don't have much hope in being found not guilty on the charges.

If the charges are proven then I hope the punishment is well thought through.. as I see it, relegation just punishes other teams in whatever division they end up.. it effectively creates one less promotion place to play for.. so I hope any punishment is based on exclusion from the Champions League but expect it will be a pointless fine and points deduction

Am I right in thinking that they were paying players and Mancini off the books or something in the early days of this takeover and inflating money gained from sponsorship deals through sister companies?

I think if the financial doping is as wide spread as has been alledged then whatever money they showed in their books should be deducted by psr rules in whatever division they are hopefully relegated to so they have to sell all their best players to basically start again from where they were before the cheating started.

I don’t believe they will be found guilty but I’m crossing my fingers tightly.

I think most of the charges relate to City being uncooperative and not providing relevant accounts.. the truth must be much worse if they're concealing it

Not sure the Premier league can relegate clubs as they don't own the lower leagues, so would have to get their permission.

Yes. PL can expel City from the league, but not put them in the EFL. City would have to apply for entry in to the EFL. Can’t see either scenario personally.

I reckon the reason that it's taken so long to be heard is
their lawyers can claim that the prosecution is "time barred"
and therefore there is no case to answer.

Mind you, they will drag it out a while and pretend to suddenly
discover this "flaw" !!!!!! The stench around this case is unpalatable
at the very best.

Certainly be interesting. Either City get the rule book thrown at them or the Premier League may as well pack up pretending it’s a sporting competition and concentrate on being the Harlem Globetrotters equivalent of a football league.

I believe so for CAS, they will tie it up somewhere somehow for sure. They've hardly acted out the 'not guilty' in a way that suggests their innocence, it's going to be an interesting watch for sure.

City will not be found guilty of any charges🤦‍♂️
They will be found guilty of lesser charges and after appeal will be fined 500 pounds 😵💫

It’s not a prosecution it’s a private hearing.

The reason it has taken so long is because City have been tying it up for as long as possible. The CAS stuff was one of their arguments, that the PL isn't the final arbiter.

And City haven't necessarily acted this way because they are innocent, they've acted this way because they can. The PL is about to find out for a second time that some clubs consider themselves above the league and out of any rules.

Premier league doesn’t have a time limit
UEFA did, of 5yrs I think it was
The evidence uefa couldn’t use will be used by the premier league

All city are doing is trying to discredit the evidence etc

They haven’t denied what they’ve allegedly done
