Nightsleeper.

BBC 1.

Infantile .. the kind of primary school script a 10 year old could have written..badly cast and littered with predictable cliches and 3rd division actors who barely scraped through drama school..

I suppose there was intended to be some great sense of heightening tension...I've felt more suspense watching Countryfile.

Absolute, utter garbage.

Imo...obviously.

Yeah, I'd agree and I do think it could have been a good script.

I was looking forward to this.
I thought it was a very promising subject for a gripping drama series. It got off to a decent start, and it raised some issues - after all, the Paris Olympics opening ceremony was disrupted by a similar type of attack.
I also thought that the first couple of episodes were ok, but then it seemed to me to "go completely off the rails" (pardon the pun) and it became increasingly unrealistic and cliched (as you say).
The last episode was especially ludicrous on many levels.
I don't agree that the actors were 3rd division, some of them have done some very good stuff, but you can only work with the material you have.
Not total garbage (imo), but very disappointing, and could have been really good.

Just to mention, that we should avoid spoilers in any subsequent posts.
I think we've managed to do that so far.

Spot on. Watched the 2nd one last night and was worse than the 1st. Binned it off now after finding out there are another 4 episodes to go...

Forced ourselves to watch to the end of the 1st episode and decided
that we wouldn't be watching any more of it.

As previously alluded to, predictable, cliche ridden, pretending to be
clever script writing when in reality it was amateurish, all been done before
slop.

On to the next I'm afraid.

PS We noticed that there were a total of 6 episodes and wondered
how on earth they were going to spin it out that long.

V poor effort.

Apparently the train is stopped by an RMT strike for two episodes and then leaves on the line in episode 5.

Glad it wasn't just me thankfully.

I couldn't see that allegedly Welsh lead actress getting a part in a school play.. and it often appears that acting roles for scots in BBC drama appear to be a very tight little closed shop...there has to be better than that shower.

On the whole I’ve enjoyed it. At points the writing has been a bit clunky and some of the shocks/reveals have been quite transparent and apparent but overall it’s a decent yarn.

I'm afraid it becomes increasingly ludicrous and cliched. We actually quite enjoyed the first 2 episodes, but found episode 6 almost laughable.
Of course, others are entitled to their own view, but I would be interested to know what your view is after all 6 episodes.
There will have been worse of course, but this could have been a really excellent gripping and chilling drama, and those on here who enjoyed it have described it as quite entertaining (or similar). It should /could have been much better than that.

It's supposed to be shown in real time hence 6x1hour episodes. Potential to have been a good yarn but I can't take the characters seriously particularly the lass taking the lead role. Me and Mrs TOTBG want to know whether she has left school yet.

Those who think a 10-year-old could write a script/novel should try writing one.

It played out like an above average episode of Casualty crossed with Dr Who with the script by a school competition winner . The characters and dialogue were toe curlingly cliched . At first I thought this could be a comedic nod to old disaster movies, alas not . It’s harmless enough predictable nonsense if that’s your thing . ( I only made it to Ep 3)

You’d expect drivel like this to be made by/for ITVX in those godawful series they do that look like they’re been made for a grand using the local am dram club , with a trailer saying “ from the producers of Line of Duty”

Just finished the whole series.

As intimated above it could have been an intense chilling thriller but didn't deliver on that level.

The train characters were far too shallow and some of the storyline was flawed.

However, I did quite like it for what it is.

Finished the series last night, it's clichéd and ludicrous but very watchable with lots to amuse any self respecting computer geek and railway anorak.
You'll see a lot worse.
