Kind person!

Last week I reached out on here for anyone with cheap Burnley kit for my lad who's just turned 6 and is Burnley mad! As a low income family we couldn't afford new kit. A lady called bev reached out saying she had some older kit we could have free that she also posted free. I was not expecting what arrived ... To say he's delighted is an understatement. Thanks so much again bev you've made his year

I agree with both sentiments... Now can he play left-back?

Well done Bev, your lad looks great.

Really pleased he’s got his kit and he’s happy with it. I may have one or two pieces knocking around. When I do a clear out I’ll keep this thread in mind.

All three of those kits are absolutely brilliant by the way

We don’t make keeper kits like that any more :(

This site is so good at times I reckon that, if you were to put
your address on here, you wouldn't be able to move for kits
sent to you.

Very well done Bev, lovely gesture.

I remember having those kits when I was roughly his age, wish I'd kept them for mine.
Great work Bev

Superb.

I firmly believe the majority of people in today's society ARE kind.

This is proof.

The prices of today's shirts are scandalous.

The kindness of Bev has meant this lad isn't missing out. Well done that lady!

I used to have that bottom keeper shirt. I asked Marlon at the end of the season if i could have one of his shirts which he gave to me. I played three times a week in it and ruined it. He also gave me the one from the following season, think explosion in a paint factory which I still have, though not in the best condition as I played a lot of games in that shirt too.

I don't know who Bev is but obviously someone who posts on or reads this message board.

What a fantastic gesture. Sometimes I realise just how good this message board can be. This is one such occasion.

Superb Bev and I'm so pleased he's happy with his kit.

Great thread …. Brilliant from Bev and your lad looks great. I used to visit Child Okeford regularly , and stay at the pub there, when I worked for a national drainage franchise business.

Well done Bev with all the kits looks like he could play all positions, reminded me of a player that played every position for Burnley Andy Farrell. have there been any others

Those kits are classics and probably worth more on the second hand classic kit market than what the new kits would cost. Brilliant

Is my memory playing up, or did David Eyres have to go in goals at Stokes old Victoria ground?

It was the season before we signed Eyres. Mark Mornington went in goal and played really well.

I know we won the Luton game, but was Monington's game the last game of 92-93, a 1-1 draw ?

He had to go in goals on the Turf once, pretty sure it was a midweek game?

I was fairly sure he went in goals once, for some reason I thought it was at Stoke.

Off top of my head, the outfield players to go in goal I can recall are;
Mornington
Eyres
Spicer

Didn't Andy Farrell also play in nearly every position including goal when he was playing for us πŸ€” am sure CT would confirm this.

Edit, just seen pureclarets post confirming this above πŸ‘

UPDATE

Wow, genuinely blown away, my son just got back from school and some kind person on here (no note) had sent this to him. The top has tags on.... That is beyond generous and honestly me and my wife are taken aback, thankyou so much, a gesture like that has absolutely flabbergasted him he can't believe his luck
